Fact or Farce?

I heard somewhere that players' kills and deaths can be written to now... this would be useful for a system i'm making involving killing certain things like say, deer, would only count for a fifth of a kill.... but a woman and child maybe 5...

Either way, is this true? And if so, how would it be done?

HoudiniMan 03-12-2003 05:12 AM

Doesn't seem to work, does stefan need to update the npc server?

I know perfectly well how to restart it, but nobody said clearly what "update" meant... For all i knew stefan had a beta npc server out on g2k2 or something...?

Not really. It's a measure of the deviation of your sparring results, combined with the frequency with which you spar. Fairly complicated algorithm, I think.

i think i saw the formula, it was pretty complicated, its some chess rating thing x_X

Does restarting it count as "messing with the npc server"

I heard stefan was pretty mad at some servers for messing with the npc server.

ShadowDarkstar 03-14-2003 04:35 PM

im pretty sure its disconnecting the npc-server then just saying '/npcstart'

Com013 03-16-2003 01:12 AM

Ah yes, I annoyed Stefan until he gave me those variables for Classicdev.
You can reconnect the NPC Server, but I guess that doesn't mean that you update it. I think Stefan has to do that.
Stefan gave me the sparring calculation from the G-Server, so I can use it, and it's really quite huge.
