As most of you know, 2K1 was reset considerably recently. RPing was also brought back, and you could RP without having to worry about some unbalanced super-level-20 guy killing everyone making a fight totally one-sided.

So. Why did you all return to 2K2 even after all that?

My theory is that there were no updates, it was just reset.

If the reset was accompianed by constant updates (new jobs, new collectables, etc.) then I think it would of done much better.

I don't know, just my theory, I don't play kingdoms so.

Because googi, they like to complain.

If no one complained, change wouldn't happen.

A new job was added, bomys were auctioned off every day and new hat stores opened all the time ^^

Those aren't new besides that job, they existed, were just redone.

1 job can't keep a whole playerbase.

Then why is 2K2 keeping players, but not 2K1?

People find fun in killing monsters and leveling up I presume, and buying new things. As I said, I don't play Kingdoms so I don't really know, it's what I presume is true.

Nah, Total RP enviroment would rule. You just don't see the possiabilies. Plus what your doing right now is 10x more boring.

Well honestly, GBM should do something, and GP is usually right (I think). I mean, what do they have to lose, players? Nothing, take a shot at something Jeff.

The problem is that stefan and unixmad's english comprehension is poor, and when they found out people liked roleplaying with storylines and cool stuff on graal, they must have figured everyone wanted a boring, run of the mill, exploitable RPG stats system and based "kingdoms" around that.

Me too, that week/over a week period where it was back was so much fun. But now, I'm back to no PW to play. *sniffle*

It SHOULD be classic since it uses the CLASSIC tiling.
I think that all gold servers should be 3dish.
Soon GRAAL KINGDOMS 3d will be there. so... make the bomy moon classic.

That's a really good idea and it would definetly boost player activity by a LOT.

I want a purple shroomy bomy. That's all I've ever wanted. I go on GBM occasionally to pearl for money. There's not much else to do .. when I go there it's sort of empty. I would do the Stefan heart quest, but I'm a bomy, and they get nothing from it (I don't intend to morph). I was in the middle of the Zal Labs quest and got stuck, so I gave up on that. I don't buy hats, because bomies have no use for them. I don't even know what this "new job" is, but something tells me it's for humans, anyway. I enjoy GK because there is so much to it. The MUD might not be original to Graal, but it works in well with it, and it's got a lot of great and fun stuff in it to manipulate the game in different ways. Besides .. there's a lot of fun things to do on GK (treasure hunting, monster slaying, sparring with magic or weapons, farming/mining, writing, etc). Not to mention I love finding and learning new spells and trying them out .. and I can hardly wait for summons to come out (I've got a lot of fun summons to try out). Plus, there's still so much to look forward to (lots of new spell gfx, new weapons, armour, monsters, spells, features) .. for one, I'm anxious to see when all gods finally grant spells and give holy relics. That'll be fun. You see.. there's just so much more on GK, despite the PKers and non-RPing .. I RP most of the time, and I'm in Dustari, a kingdom that encourages and monitors RPing, so it's really not that bad. Not to mention, I have a lot of good friends on GK. Well .. those're my thoughts on it. :asleep:

The answer is so simple a 4 year old child would understand. They reset Graal Bomy Moon. Tada! That's it! You get on and find all your hard work over the year(s) has been wiped away, and you have no items or money, or house, or bomy. Then they figured "hey, how about we make jobs pay less too!? How about we make items cost the same, and make it harder to earn money!? That way the economy won't get flooded with gralats! We are so smart and cool, yay!"

I go on and find my stuff is all gone, I find jobs are tougher and it took me forever to get a sword. Then I find out that because of some stupid mistake where monsters were dropping gold, the players that started playing right after the reset got super rich really fast. Then the intelligent staff go and hold auctions the first few days for bomies and houses, which only those fortunate beginners could afford.

That's pretty much all they did. Except for making everything more difficult to accomplish and unevening the playerbase in less than a week. But yeah.

There is also the fact that shortly after the reset, it became easier to level up on Kingdoms cause when you died, no exp loss.. then job exp finished up the le***vers (leftovers).

Well, what would make you come back to 2K1 than?

I play 2k1 just as much as 2k2 now.

because if people want a true rpg environment they could get more out of a mud or a chat room.... if they *really really really* need graphics then I can point to you a better *totally without battle commands* graphical mud... although the vast majority of people on Furcadia just plain scare me

Well .. what Koni said about the gold bug .. that's really keeping me away now, that's terribly unfair that something wasn't done about that. Fix up the economy, add new things (useful things), and I'm there. Also try to make bomies more equal .. what's this about the NPC cops trying to kill bomies? :\

Well, I said that the people who got swords from the gold bug should've had them taken away, but it didn't happen. And besides, this alchemy bug thing you guys are having on 2K2 seems to be causing a considerably greater problem.

The bug was removed, ages ago, and it's not that much of a big deal, I mean, if we got hundeds of thousands of plats from it, then yes, it would be, but we just got armor and weapons, and most aren't THAT good.

Same thing with the gold bug, only, like, 6 people got swords from it.

Why do I play 2k2 mor ethen 2k1? Simple. 2k1 isn't undated, nobody's on 2k1, 2k1 is getting boring, and I hate myself, so I torture myself by playing the mmorpg-wanna-be-worse-then-Evercrap

I don't play bomy moon because if I earn even 1 gralet, someone prowls the profiles and sees:

I am new
Can't kill anything
have 1 shiny gralat

In short, it's a PK server in my experience. It takes too long to make any money and without a sword (and maybe my 56k doesn't help) I'll never get a chance to spend even 1 gralet, but help some PKer get wealthy.


Second reason, it's hard to find how to get anywhere, I walk for a good while.... nope, can't get past through there... go around the whole map...

I haven't given it must of a chance, but I had an easier time at least exploring on 2k2, and I know I can either hang out there and do stuff or go to 2k1 and get Pked for my 1 gralet, well, the choice is clear.


I'd try bomy moon more if:

* There was a peaceful mode
* If I had some clue what you can do there

Also, I really don't like the spin-around-death-stand-up thing. To RP, you need an enviroment structured to help promote RPing, it cannot be built specifically to hinder Rping.

Death is not death at all vaguely in 2k1, it's a mugging.

Oh, and I am supposed to be a Knight in Inra, and I was heling a Squire make bread, I ask him, "where would you like this Squire?" and he says "((Call me Squire agian and I'll split you open))"

...which is a stupid way of acting OOC while IC to effect someone in a IC conversation... why should I play when people are like that?

If you die in an RP zone on 2K1, you get sent to a "timeout" level for 10 minutes.
