Odd Graal Connection Problems......

For about a year now I have been having consistant troubles connecting to graal online. For one, I canno't connect to www.graalonline.com at all. For two, I have to download graal and zip it over to my main computer to play. For three, it takes a VERY long time for the server list to load, even though I am on a cable modem with 1100mhz computer (It used to not do this). And to top it all off I can't connect to graal with the RC client. If anybody knows how to fix, I could be in GREATFUL debt.

Toodles + thanks in advanced

Lok

Aside from your cable modem, do you have a router?

try using a different version, if you're using the newest, try 7.0 and/or 6.0

When I asked Stefan, he intelligently responded "I dunno" :)

Um.....
Try disableing UDP Packets.

I'm guessing he doesn't have graal installed. Neither do I.

I have graal installed (thank god for zip disks =p) and I went into options and checked this box (see attachment) but graal still loads as slow as it used to.

[EDIT] I can connect to graal, but it takes about 1 minute to load server list and cant connect to RC at all.

rewwer1 03-03-2003 06:04 AM

Install on zip disk on another computer, copy folder, copy on other computer.

Oh :(

melissa1988 03-03-2003 07:26 AM

Contact your ISP, describe to them your problem, then see if they can troubleshoot the problem. It is most likely a problem on your computer, and maybe they will be able to guide you through the steps in fixing it.

As a last resort, reinstall windows...might be a problem within your installation.

The possibility of that affecting only Graal is negligable.

The guy who can't get to the site/install has a problem establishing internet access to Graal's DNS server it sounds like, maybe something in your computer/ISP is blocking it...

Devil 03-03-2003 05:09 PM

I've had that problem before, lots of times, I had to re-install windows to fix the problem, but I'm not suggesting it. :(

Sometimes the DNS goes down and nobod can connect.. make sure other people can get on before doing anything stupid

For me, It was a long time ago, and I didn't really care anyway, and this has been an on-going thing for these people.

The guy has been experiencing lag ongoing, but that could be anything... The guy with the connectivity problems made all his posts on the same day... We don't know how often he tried or didn't try.

True, but I just assumed it has been a thing on-going for awhile.

This has been happening for me for a YEAR I just eventually got pissed off and made a thread because maybe sombody else had the same problem and knew how to fix.

melissa1988 03-04-2003 02:55 AM

Call your ISP! If they can't help you, then you're probably screwed. Like I said, as a last resort, reinstall your operating system. If you still can't access it, you've got serious problems somewhere...

Googi 03-04-2003 03:46 AM

Try disabling your firewall.
