Treasure Caves

Ok, this is a serious glitch for most players, especially those on Peaceful mode. When on peaceful mode, if you die in a dungeon, you lose only the exp that you gained while in it. If you die outside, you lose exp normally. Just now, I died in a treasure cave, which is a dungeon, and lost exp as if I was outside of a dungeon...actually, what happened was I was in the treasure cave dungeon, was about to die, reconnected, and appeared outside as if I died, and lost a lot of exp. I also dropped a level in agility, mental, and wisdom, and a level overall. I wish to be restored, and this incident to be looked into, and I was on peaceful mode btw, if you didn't get that from my post.

After you log off I believe there's a 3 second period that your character remains on and quite possibly you were killed in that time period but it didn't detect it til you logged on and of course you re-appeared outside so the death was considered an outside one x.x

Conclusion: get rid of being warped out when reconnecting in a Treasure Cave.

thats why u should try and avoid death in the dungeon by signing off and not losing the experiences u gain

Kaiser2 02-17-2003 04:07 AM

Rax, that's what I did, I was surrounded by 20 Iguanadons, couldn't move, so I closed the game with 11 hp left, I reconnect outside, dead, with a lot of exp gone :(

Treasure caves could go boom before you reconnect you know x.x

Then they player will appear above ground or something, I dunno.

BeZeRkEr 02-17-2003 06:28 AM

you do
leave while in the treasure maps and come back and you appear above ground.

Yes, that's the problem, that's why this bug occured.

I agree. IF someone was inside them, and then leaves and no one is left, the trasure cave should collapse, to prevent this.

Now if only Loriel or Stefan got online, then maybe I can find out if they can restore me.

I dont like getting D/C'ed a few minutes after going in, its not fun, especially when its a high leveled map X_X

Yes I think there are two major problems with dieing right now:
- when you disconnect while you die: the npcserver sets your hp to 0, you disconnect, you reconnect and appear outside of the dungeon, the npcserver calculates your exp loss and thinks you died outside -> need to make the exp loss stuff directly when your hp drops to 0
- you die and get killed again at the place where you are warped to -> must warp the player to a secure place / in a secure state (ghost mode for a few seconds or something)

The logs of your death:

Makes a person feel like they're being watched.... I gained my exp back, the hard way, but losing all that exp was pretty bad =/ And I would like getting it returned, but hey, I don't know if it'll be done.
