Monster ...resistance type things?

And weapon classes.


For example.

A diamond sword would be in the 'sharp' class. Sharp classes are strong against beasts, but weak against slime. His diamond sword may be able to do double the damage on a wolf, but do hardly any to a glok.

A club.

A club is in the blunt class. It is strong against slime yet weak against armored creatures. Strong against gloks, weak against things like brown shell bomys.

Bows are not strong or weak against anything.


etc. etc.

I agree.. It's a good idea but.. too confusing.. Me prefer simple to the point, There are too many resistances now anyways.

its not really resistances for people, only monsters. I mean when was the last time you could stab jelly and it'd hurt :/

There is alot to take in for people who are not used to RP. There is alot to think about with classes, hp, weapon levels, exp, magic, baddies, money systems etc.

Yea, I hate the resistances for people.. There shouldn't be resistances for monsters except elemental alignment so its simple.. I hate stuff thats too confusing too many online games get too confusing for it's own good.

I don't stab jelly, I spread it. I don't think it would hurt them if I did, considering its not alive.. but if your talking Video Games you could kill jellys by stabbing them. Look at any self respecting rpg you'll see what im talking about.

No it's not that confusing but it's getting alittle complicated and if things get too complicated thing's start heading the wrong way Simple and fun is better than complicated Dungeons and dragons where you have to read a manual the size of Shaq's pickle.

So let's not add to that with 100 different resistances requiring different weapons.. maybe change it so like if a mage is with you and they cast imbue sword with fire then that would make it fire aligned or something.. but different weapons for different monsters would make you also have to carry around a lot of different weapons thus getting rid of Roleplay because no one carrys around a sword, spear, dagger, club, and a axe. just so he can take down a ogre, bird, Imp, Jelly, and a Treant. why can't he just use a Sword for it all like in fantasy movies and/or games?
