Appropriate?
Perhaps I'm reading to much into this but isnt there something innapropriate about this?

I don't think there's anything we can do about account names here.
I don't think they can be censored out, although I may be wrong. |
Personally I think they should be forced to change it. I know on one game I played if your name was in appropriate it would appear with stars and you would have to e-mail customer service to set it to something appropriate. Then again it could be argued its goes against the agreement for appropriatness. ;x

Nothing can be done. vBulletin doesn't have censoring in the names, it does have words that can't be used in the account name though, like mod, supermod, administrator, etc. You can't change his name either, without changing everything for him on Graal. vBulletin here is set up to read exactly from the account database. |
I say just ban him. Obviously if the person is *****ic enough to make an account with that name, their language and attitude surely wouldn't be much better.

Be pointless to write one. Unixmad wouldn't install it. He told me he would install some patchs I made to some of the current hacks.. never did. Also, give the guy a chance. Don't sterotype him automaticly. |

Some people do it on purpose. And even then it does not mean automaticly that it is for immature purposes. Also, someone might have done the account for him. Dunno. Like I said, just wait for him to post, etc. Forcing him t change his account name would not change his behaviour, for the postive or negative |

(not saying I don't believe you, I just think its strange) |

vBulletin looks at the MySQL account tables and makes sure you have either a gold or VIP account and if you do it let's you register. (it also checks onw whether you are globally banned or not). |
Lycia was always strict about offensive account names. She banned many of people with offensive\bad account names.
Ofcourse this was when you didn't pay to play GraalOnline. Which when Graal went pay to play - I would think- the bar to ban people was raised. |
This may seem like a dumb question, but what is that account name suppose to mean. I tried to figure it out, but no luck.

The guy may not be that bad, people are sometimes forced to use accounts they don't want. Give him a chance, don't stereotype for God's sakes! Sheesh.
|
account name censoring was build in to a degree. but with all the alternate spellings out there the filter will never catch them all. as it is, when I last saw the filter, there were at least 40 patters used to match against

That's the only situation I can think of. That's the only reason I'm using this account and not my "Ian" one. |

Of course, he could have been forced to use that name... if "urmomizawh**e" was already taken. :p |
it doesnt really refer to any sexuall meaning...its like saying something english to a japanese person that doesnt understand english....anyways it doesnt say any cusswords in his account so he cant get in trouble its like saying 2374/\/ 27|_||''!|)

Using something to get around rules or filters is not ok. Example: Logging on another account immediatly after being banned on another. Respelling something so that a filter doesnt block it. etc... |

added note: Unixmad is French and may not have even noticed what he had done, Unixmads English isn't the greastest and something like this can get by him , that is why there are Mods for the Forums and Graal Admins (Managers) on all PWs to catch and point things out like this. We cannot expect Stefan and Unixmad to catch everything like this that happens on the game, that is our job as Mods/and or Managers to catch it and see that something is done about it. |
I didnt anderstand in the start what the name ment either.
But i do now :o , sick sick sick |

When I read that, I thought of what would happen if you told them that they couldn't pm unixmad. lol |
