Review: Everworld
*Quickly finishes the review on Friday night because he promised he would review it for Arcadius by Friday* :p
I got the impression Everworld was more of a community type server with events, quests etc but it claims to have tailored to role-players. This map is pretty full, not exactly a big metropolis like Delteria is, but there are no huge blank, barren spots in the map like some servers may have had. Creativity - 9.5/10 - Wow! You didn't even have your own tileset but you really added small details that made your own server unique. Everything from different colored mushrooms not in the real tileset to flowers, to different graphics for baddies, all that really contributed in a positive way to your server and gave it an increased level of sophistication. I also liked the idea how everything "flowed" in the server, you could really find out a lot of information about buildings and things to do just by bumping people into the street, you didn't have any idea where you'd end up next sometimes which I thought was cool. You'd get immersed into doing one thing when you should be doing another! New mini games and some q games as well (similar to krak man on bomy moon). There were still some monotonous components to the server that others have, but still I think the effects of those things (I also forgot the trees, they were neat though it's debatable whether they fit into the overworld) far outweighed the regularities. Storyline - 5/10 - This I found kind of problematic. Okay, so you're the guy who has to save the day and such, but I didn't really find any elements in the server that contributed to the storyline. Sure, you meet the odd person or two who has things to say about the antagonist but I didn't feel anything building up or any key climatic point that made the story worthwhile, except to just explain a few things as you go along. Maybe it would be best if you got rid of the story or phased it out even a bit more or added a few more components into it for the quests. Either way, you don't have to totally reform your server but maybe just have something relevant in the server (or nothing at all) to make the story worthwhile. Levels - 9/10 - Another fantastic job. The server had no custom tileset but some of those levels were simply fascinating. While the main towns are great what really caught my attention is how the quality remained consistent and didn't trail off after a while. It was always there, from the towns to the quests to the countryside. No plain green fields or endless roads that went straight on forever. Some of the styles you used such as some of the flower bunches are debatable when it comes to style but you didn't do a whole lot of it, the general overworld still looks very good. Player made houses could use a little bit of work, but still, you really did a good job levelling. NPC's - 8/10 - You had some interesting NPC's in this server. Some of them were regular ones like the hammer and shovel etc but some of them were unique like the hats (wow, the hats! Most of them totally original) which must have taken a ton of effort. There was two things, though, and that was the pistol might actually be better if it had a graphic for it (and different attack style) and also one of your minigames, I think I've seen it before but you may have made it.. I'll have to look into it later. The NPC characters placed around the towns giving you small odd tasks to do was pretty neat too, and some weren't just standing there, they would go into a story and casually mention this and that, which leaves what you do about it open-ended. Good job here, but you might want to think about adding a few more interesting NPC's if you like. Quests - 8/10 - Lots of quests, tons of quests in fact, and Arcadius mentioned the possibility of there being more of them he did not pick up. The sheer quality, however, is not what made them so good but the variety. Yes, I think some of them could have been converted from "slash the baddies" to something more interesting, but the prizes at the end aren't all just hearts, it's a great variety of things. Sometimes, when you think a quest is over, it really isn't and you have to find your reward. Also some of tasks couldn't be classified as quests, but they felt like them (example: Go deliver this item to player x and he will tell you something which may help you later on in a real quest). Things like these show that the staff actually care about the server and didn't just slap it all together, they took their time and worked hard on it. Overall score: 39.5/50 Everworld's Status: Pass! Everworld's website: http://everworld.yoll.net So, it has all the components of a required server, and it passed too. Neat, that means my work here is done. Congratulations to the team for their fine work on this server. But wait, even the magnificent me ( ;) ) sometimes can have subjective and flawed judgement, which means that it won't go up just yet. It's onto the second reviewer, which is Torankusu. He will review the server, then post his review on the forums too for everyone to see. Like it or not, we aren't exactly robots, we cannot get every server and every review perfectly, we just have to assess how it would succeed with the graalian population and compare it's quality to other servers online and other potential servers. So anyways, there you have it. Round 2 should follow soon |
Woo-friggidy-whoo!!!

I guess I'll break it down to small parts for you :\ Everquest - Ok, this word makes sense but has nothing to do with anything anyone said in this thread is - Simple linking verb, its ok a - still ok serious - makes absolutely no sense in the way it was used a - ^same^ books - ^same again^ Is there still confusion? |
Quote:
I was confused when I read it, but the Everquest thing was an obvious mistake, since he editted his post to cover it up. If he said series of books, that would make since. |

Also, Since even though he edited his post it still makes no sense. :\ |
I find Your Website Half Offensive
I take it who ever wrote this cheesy comment, they are Are American? ''LoL The Target Added to the Turban was by me. For everyone to get a close lookout if they ever go to Afgahnistan! (Yes I know my spelling sucks...)'' Your so controlled by propaganda that you think that Afganistan is a bad country, nothing but war and you your self have no real reason to hate that country. [As far as I know] - - - - - - Next thing, About the snowboarding, it looks nothing like a snowboard, Thats not a big deal but it looks similar to the Skatebaord, try and change that as it would be better. - - - - - - Final thing: Quote:
Congrats :D |
>_>
Actually the turban wasnt added by me, there was one other person who had access to the site.. and I wont mention hsi name because he's no longer a part of everworld nor graal, he asked me never to speak of him. Eep? |
WOOT WOOT
