2002 Level Editing?
I've never tried to make 2002 levels before, could someone please explain how it works?
Someone told me a while back you need like a text file of the gmap or something... Just seems a bit weird to me, lol. |
I won't mind learning myself =/
|
Well I figured out how to make the levels, but it won't let me walk on the dirt paths or anything... Am I missing a point here or something?
What is it i'm not doing? lol |

you cant walk because the tiles have set data of what they are. so grass in the pissco could have grass under a table tile on the pics1.png so you have to just go with instinc

well
ive been making reg levels for a while i started making g2k2 levels like 2 weeks ago i wonder if stefan would look at them but...
get the terrain gen and make a map then save and name and the levels will be with the map so open them and start building =P not hard lelelelelelelelel |
why do people insist on using the terrain gen, for one it kind of sucks, for two manually editing the heights is so much easier/better/more detailed, for three I find it simple to type them out in wordpad flat, then just load it and start makin it 3d
|
well
do things your way and ill do it mine =P
They both turn out the same... |
Ok guys/girls, it's all ok I figured it out.. I just had to get a "foothold", lol.
Once I got on Debug I took right off, no sweat at all :) |
lol it about time you got the hang on it aswell lol hope the info i gave you helped
|
manual editing?! I thought the information was no longer in the gmaps... terrain editor? this is what?

It edits terrain |
No, it doesn't do that. The Terrain Editor creates a gmap, and you can raise or lower the terrain to create water, mountians, sandy areas, or grassy areas, depending on the elevation (Z value).
The Level Editor then can edit the Z value to raise or lower the terrain. So Kinatt, you only said one thing of what the program does. |
