Ruby/Jade Blade Ideas

1 Attachment(s)
Ok, I have a couple of ideas for these...

1) It would be very cool if you could weild both of these blades at the same time, thus giving more combonations of attacks and abilities/stances.

2) If the idea above was approved, it would be awsome if you were able to do some sort of combination, allowing you to fuse the two blades together, thus allowing even more combinations of attacks!

If you still dont get what I mean, look at this file I made in like 3 minutes x.x

why just those blades?

I think one sword in each hand should be a special barbarian skill or something...

Fusing swords though... thats liek the double bladed lgiht sabers in starwars X_x, there was never double bladed swords like that in medievil times (as far as i know anyway), and fused might be a little strange. But the one in each hand looks like a good idea i think, but everyone shouldnt be able to do it.

Yah I agree, But also about the Duel Bladed sword, there WERE Double-Edges, so think of it as that kinda sword ;)

Erik_K 01-06-2003 03:07 AM

Maybe, but i think it looks kinda strange... but it mgiht be fun to fuss blades together :D

O.o.. LEET!
I'd prefer a blacksmith skill where we could merge two swords together (like alchemizim) and they'd come otu as something new :P

Locke_boy 01-06-2003 05:16 AM

Very cool. I want a double saber. :D

Heh interesting idea :) I guess the two organic swords are growing together and so they are joining?

sageofthehalo 01-06-2003 06:04 AM

Wow, your the only one who got that! The fused blade's name would be prolly ((if its not too long)) Mineral Duel-Bladed Polerarm, or Mineral DoubleEdge!

Star Wars :)

Sword Chucks-Yo!

Anyway. it would be kind of cool to have. It reminds me of Serge's weapon (it was called a swallow, right?) in Chrono Cross. :)

Or maybe can match up any 2 of the same weapon but with different effects... maybe... a steel sword of Bile and steel sword of Ogma... 50% chance of doing the Bile part and 50% chance of doing the ogma part....

*has only been waiting for Swords Akimbo since G2K2's release*
*even made ganis for it once*

barbarians are already unbalanced as it is..... do you really want dragonX going round with two souped up swords?

sageofthehalo 01-06-2003 10:18 PM

Yaqh, the swallow is sorta what I worked off of, and the Double-Edged in DW7! But about the barbarien thingy, I dont think Barberians should be able to do it...I mean gthey are dumber then tacks! *runs away in fear that DX will read this*

In D&D rules, fighting with an offhand weapon gives you like a -4 to hitting with your primary and like a -8 to hitting with your offhand (ambidexterity takes off -2 from each, doubleweapon fighting feat takes off another -4 from the offhand). I think these scrolls should be added to the game, and that one could hold a dagger or other light weapon in their shield slot if so inclined but with the necessary penalties. You have twice the chance of hitting with one or the other, but you have a lower chance of hitting with either - it's a tradeoff.

As for the fused weapon - Just make a weapon file based off the Bamboo Stick, and use the ganis for that. It'd be awesome. Make it such that you can fuse select other weapons too - two steel blades perhaps, two jade blades...the above depiction would do +9/+5, one or the other at random when it hits; a double jade would always do +5, likewise a steel double edged sword would always do +7 or whatever but be heavier and therefore marginally slower, another tradeoff...

And the question someone's going to ask eventually, what about fused naginatae? Fused axes?

If you fuse a blessed/enchanted weapon and a normal, does the enchant count half the time (so an enchant steel and a normal steel does 9/7) or is the whole thing counted as enchanted? I think the whole thing enchanted makes more sense...it is magic, after all...
