We do backups so in such a case it can be restored

First of all, the backup may be corrupted, as Googi said.
Second, it is pretty hard to get anyone to actually apply a backup.

It's next to impossible now. You have to pray Stefan does it or else it will never get done. :(

Not meaning to start an arguement, but you never did these thigns anyways. So it's not "near impossible now" it's just as difficult as it was before you quit/was fired.
