What should really be done about spellbooks
 

in truth I have no problem with the failure rate.... just that its hard to find a variety of books for both classes that you can use.... some stat effecting magic would be nice for healers too for instance... defensive magic is almost a requirement for their jobs... what wizards should get is stat LOWERING magic as part of their offensive nature.... geez...

In truth there are alot of good books out there but only the best of the best can read most of them x.x

Well..there is a spell like what you are talking about...Ed has it..I believe its callded Drain Mana or something.

Regen is already out, cure disease is, cure poison is, dex is, charm is, str is, con is, etc.

.....and Armor is just a level 1 spell, I believe. There's your defense.

no I mean raise stat spells vs enemy lower

There is prayers that are defence
Ironwood skin and rage both pretty good prayers
As for enemy lowering spells

Prayers: Cause cold, flu, leporsy, etc
Spells: Poison cloud

uh stat spellls != defense spells... defense would be a specific stat
strength, intelligence, charisma.. those are stats

He means resistance debuffs i thinks....

You have those spells...other than int of course
