Guild Masters

Guild Masters... a Fighters guild, Thieves guild, Wizards guild, and a Priest guild
The strongest of each class obtains a status as a Guild Master.... after say a month passes... each guild master holds a tournament and is obliged to be in it... if the present guild master loses or doesnt show up... the winner is the new guild master...
Each Guild master is recognized by a special item... Fighters get a weapon... Wizards get a very nice looking staff... Thieves get a nice looking dagger and gauntlets... Priests get a shield...
They also have a tag that makes their name appear under the Staff catagory of the playerlist... no powers... just a tag... like... using myself as an example...
Archmage Edwin Ækalis Sparklestreak(Wizard GM)
They are considered the "FAQ"s of their class.
Alchemists and Sorcs fit into Wizards
Warriors and Barbarians fit into Fighters

Just my idea... comment all you want....

I don't know about the tag idea, but having something of a leader for the class guilds might be nice. However, I think the guilds should be something one can join voluntarily. Also, I don't think that you should have to be that particular class to get in .. you just need to maybe have the skill and the same sort of goals. Of course, this should be seperate from kingdoms ..

That would be cool altho tags otta represent the guild's class
Like Warrior Champion, Magi Master, Priest Lord, Master Thief.
Altho I do think a interesting guild system outside of kingdoms would be interesting in general. the Wizard guild of Asidune or something. Something like those speical rings offer
Guild system name types
Warrior = Order
Barbarian = Clan
Wizard = Guild
Priest = Cult
Thief = Club

I dunno I'm just rambling.

I think Thieve's Guild and Wizard's Order makes more sense

ZazenP2P 12-12-2002 01:20 AM

Whoa whoa wait

Wait a minute... Just how're you guys gonna regulate who's the best? Will you look at a person's strength level or his base level? His ability to RP? It's just complicated, and will arouse many a person higher up there around Shrimp, unless you design a way to say who's the best.

For example, I'm a thief. I know about four other thieves on the entire server. How will you say who's the best? Our ability to act like a thief? Our level of agility from stealing? Maybe our ability to make bows and arrows or daggers.

I don't know, I just see the whole thing turning out to be a popularity contest, or at least a big scandal of everyone continually bad mouthing.

I think there should be actual Guilds, not just one man or woman with a tag that says they're number one. I think the Guild Master should watch over his members, and anyone in any nation can join the Guilds as long as they meet the guidelines.

Imagine it: Warrior's getting together to go out training, or thieves running a black market with the items they've stolen. :D

Just another element of RP that will never be implemented on Stefan's game, I guess. :\

EDIT: Also, you mentioned a tournament as a way to determine leadership. Sorry, I just don't see how a Thief would enter a tournament to determine how good he is. A thief should be streetsmart, and have influence in the underworld or at least be extremely fast/rich. :rolleyes:

And guys, Thieves don't wear guantlets... They wear gloves. Imagine being pick pocketed by a big hefty pair of metal guantlets. How stealthy is that, I ask you. :confused:

What about Priests too? Do you want the guild master of Priests to be the Priest who could cast fastest? The Battle Pope, if you will. I think for some of these things, you need to come up with different ways to differentiate. I'll help if you guys ever actually get this off the ground.

I agree with what you said ..

.. but I got a really good laugh out of this part ..

.. gave me an image of the pope with some crazy sword slashing through evil .. hahahah...

Hmm.... a good point with determining who is truely best... Rouges(aka thieves), Priests, and Wizards are not all battle based.... gotta rethink a few things with that in mind...

:: twitches ::

It's .. "Rogue" .. not the French word for red .. :|

Don't lump Alchemists with Wizards. Alchs and Sorcs are two different classes with very different development (usually).

True Alchs, those who actually bother doing alchemy, have much higher intelligence than your average Sorc who doesn't have alchemy.

And there's really no way to judge who should get the "best," unless you go by the appropriate attribute level... like the Alch master has the most Intelligence, Sorc master has the highest Magic, and so on.

Brad 12-12-2002 08:01 AM

Priest Lord Brad :]

MasterNuke 12-12-2002 12:21 PM

Well... for peoples titles... like...
Elite Champion
Grand Archmage
Archbishop
umm.... for Rogue/Thief... umm... err... Shadowmaster?

but i think this idea has to be held back until some classes get revamped or something... the magic system is horrible and rogues/thieves have nothing special... and Alchemists are in the gutter with non-random alchemy....

Hmmm.... I'm talking about titles for Guild Masters... stuff like Dark Rogue can just be anyone....

AlexH 12-12-2002 07:35 PM

There would just be a tournement for that class at the beginning which would determine who is the best.
I don't like the idea of putting people in classes.
My character is a priest, I can use magic, prayers and I'm pretty good with melee weapons.
What if I want to join the fighters tournement?

JrTerrorist 12-13-2002 04:10 AM

O.O..THAT I like.. but I wanna be a thief (Class...) :(
