Increase ????? Damage
 

Thinking back, I now have an opinion to change.

Selzar's right, everything depends on HP here.

I have 66 max HP, and I am at level eight. I am a Priest who follows Brigid, so I can not use weapons. Armour slows me too much to wear, I'm weak with low dexterity.

I see people with upgraded weapons everywhere. Weapons that do +40 damage. Weapons that can KILL ME IN TWO HITS. I recently went to battle mode, because I am getting virtually no experience from monsters now, and I figured that I'm strong enough to stay alive.

Brigid's health regeneration helps me live through my snowstorms and such, but it's not enough to stop me from getting killed by other players. After switching to battle mode, I went to the Tarnathian shop, where I found DragonX AFK. I walked over, and punched him, just to satisfy my curiosity as to whether or not I could truly attack other players. I failed, so I tried again. I hit him, and probably did a few damage .. well .. he sliced me up in three hits, and then I was dead.

We talked and worked it out, he didn't mean to .. it's just that JOURDAN .. :: clears throat :: has killed him three times while he was away .. so now he just kills anyone who touchs him if he is away and hears an attack.. anyway .. that's not the main point.

The main point is that his weapon killed me in three hits (mind you it is not fully upgraded either, only about half I think).

I can not do this to another player with any spell or prayer that I have. The best spell out there is probably Create Bomb, which would not kill another player in a few hits. In fact, I'm rather confident that I could stand in the center of a bomb's explosion and exit with little to show for it.

So .. melee fighters can upgrade their weapons. What can WE do? We, as in those who decide not to use weapons .. those who prefer mind over matter.

What are we supposed to do? What am I supposed to do to survive? At this rate, any one with the will for it can kill me any time they want .. which is immensely unfair.

There is basically nothing that I can do to properly protect myself.

I'm restarting now as a Barbarian, a mindless idiot, so I can just go hack at things like everyone else.

I get killed by Dragon. Okay, I got my expereince back shortly afterward. I got killed in a dungeon by a skeleton. Bah, that's bad, but I'll deal with it.

Rucifeld tries to kill me, I escape. Then, standing in a shop, he runs up at full speed and slashes me to death with his dagger.

I stood no chance, I could fight back at all, I was cornered (there were others standing closeby). YEAH THIS BATTLE SYSTEM IS ENTIRELY FAIR.

By the way, level loss SUCKS. It's stupid.

So, I'm off to be a ****ing *****ic barbarian and hit things with a club.

Dragon and Shrimp will go kill him a bunch, I will tomorrow.
This system is full of kinks, don't get discouraged.

I've killed him once already when he walked into Tanarthia shop :]

I'm not going to restart, I have too many valuable spells and skills..

I'll come back much more powerful.

Yeah,. it doesn't take a genious to realize that hardcore gamers that are barbarians are literally panzers running down anyone and anything. The system is full of kinks. Barbarians shouldn't be able to use magic, literacy and praying AT ALL regardless if they learned it or not because I reckon they are too stupid to find out where to put the talisman or what those funny scratches in the scrolls are.

Panzers .. heh .. yes .. but .. more like twenty panzers packed into one neat little package with a speed of 3.566 or so .. :whatever:

yes I also agree, the power of some weapons are to immense for even the highest lvl magic users.

What would really tip the scales was if these things happened:

*Robes implemented- Stefan told me this was planned, its a lighter type of armour for magic users which wont slow you down but doesnt give much physiqe defence. maybe defence for other things.

*Enable more spells!!-such as summon elementals, and SUMMON AVATAR (I cannot wait for that one to work)

*Make a new type of wand- Many melee weapons give you certain amount of attack and also some other benefits like special attack types (~poison~) or WC improvements. There should be wands available which would also improve some variables, like maybe faster sp regen or grace regen..

Or in your case to level up and get strong, abuse the pen bug. :rolleyes:
No, but really, Its only a test for things. Not sure what your all worried about, it might be all gone one day when the server is complete.

You can't do that writing thing anymore, the post offices only sell you one letter every few minutes now, because they don't want to support mail bombing. :(

I can't wait for that stuff to come out... even though I'm not a hardcore fighter I want to see the robes and summon spells.

Woohoo, im not the only priest. I never win tourneys or anything from being a priest but I can't complain. I chose being smart over being a ***** with a stick.

And locke, your stats suck as a priest. 66 HP? I have 84 and im one level higher o.O 98 with one ring on.

I didn't roll for ub3|2 stats or summat. Great stats are good, but it's a bit more of a challenge if you go for realism..

It doesn't matter, though, I used a bad dust, restarted .. I'm not even playing anymore. :o
