No, the message code is not "#D(file)", it is just "#D" and it would give you the name of the file Graal is currently downloading.
The variable "downloadpos" tells you how much of this file has been downloaded.
So you'd do something like "message #D: #v(downloadpos)".

I know I'm bringing this topic back but:

Is there a way you can check if a client already has an image?

CheeToS2 01-07-2003 01:16 PM

what exactly does downloadpos return? a percentage? how many bytes complete? if #2 is there something to tell how many bytes there are total?

Sorry to bring back and old topic but...

Has anybody gotten this to work? I mean seen it work, used it online.

Type "Shifting Ages" into that little box under the classic serverlist, and press enter. They use it pretty well.

I am well aware. It seems that #D and "downloadpos" are the most likely reasons they can get that loading screen. But #D is not the only way to pre-load images.

And I have yet to see #D work.

#D doesn't download anything :p Its meant to do along with downloadpos for when you are downloading a file from a playerworld.

I am aware, #D isn't what downloads the images.

I'm just saying it doesn't work.

Kaimetsu 06-22-2003 06:40 AM

Shifting Ages doesn't actually use #D. The percentage is derived purely from the number of images downloaded compared to the total.

Well then, I guess that proves it. #D doesn't work.

Yeah, that's the only way I could get my preloader to work.
