10 second wait...
 

I was disconnected from graal, I hurry to reconnect, when I do, I'm dead... We hear that alot, this is because we stay for 10 seconds after disconecting, I will be asking for restoration, since I was only 7000 exp away from lv13... What annoys me is that if we didnot wait around for 10 seconds, we wouldn't hear so much of this, so could you please remove it? I know why its there, to stop people quitting in kingdom battles to avoid death, how about you only stay for 10 seconds in kingdom mode? or some similar and less lethal way of fixing it...

Yet again... I dont think you'll be restored because you lagged to death.

For all we know you could've just went AFK infront of a rabbit and when you came back it killed you and you got mad. =x

Its really hard to detect if a player is really disconnected or just has a slow connection, especially the first 10 seconds can't really be protected

Simple soloution.
Instead of having the player stay on for 10 seconds after they disconect do it like this.

The player has to be still for 10 seconds (like using unstick me except only 10 seconds).
Only then can they leave the server.

Stefan, can't you make it so the server pings you then requests the reply. Just make it so you cannot ping your servers or "hide" it to make it look like a ping reply from your computer to the servers.

i know his connection is not slow, infact it is broadband

Just because it's broadband means nothing.
I have it and so does my school.
My schools is much faster than mine.
Why?
Because the rest of its computer specs are much better than mine.
That also influences it.

Computer specs have nothing to do with flat lining connection.

You school has broadband.. Possibly T1 or T3 running the entire district I'm sure whileas you are running cable or ADSL.. which are slower than the ones above. Even with the ammount of users at once the T1 or T3 your school runs will still be faster than you.

Heheheh, I love it when someone shoots someone down .. that must have been so satisfying for you Bezerker .. hah (I must seem rather sick in saying that!). Yeah, you're right there though, schools run on much faster connections than do home computers .. my father had worked in a public district (though he recently retired) and they were going to upgrade the network so it could download .. I think it was 1000MB a second .. something like that. Yeah, hahahah, my cable connection can NOT do that. :D

Worse things happened to me than that... My computer froze but my guy was still in the game then somebody came up and killed me 50 times and lost all my exp and went back to level 1. That took 200 hours to get me to level 5 (Read Unbalanced Warriors and Wizards Post). Now im waitin for Steffy to restore me

I do have a good connetion and a good computer, I don't know why I was disconnected... If I can't be restored... I guess I'll just have to work my way up again... it is very annoying that I was disconnected for no reason, If you think I'm lying, do you know how hard it is to lose 121 HP with 50 armour? Do you think I'm that much of an idiot to hang around a smoky while he beats me to death?

Same happened to me :mad:
I was hitting a bomy and my hp was at 4 :\ then the box saying "you have been disconnected appears" i reconnect and im back at the docks :( Then i start killing again and does it to me once more :mad: I was so close to level 5 i was only 1000 exp away. now im about 6000 exp away :(

Stefan, don't bother restoring me (I'm sure you wouldn't have anyway), I bet your all pleased to know that I restored my stats and I should be lvl 13 by the end of tommorrow. When I reach lvl 13 I'll take a much needed break from dungeoning and pursue alchemy and karting, well, untill a dungeon for the lvl 10+ come out ;)
