First kingdom battle: Comments and suggestions.

This would fall under three forums (suggestions, kingdom and main) so I decided to get the benefit of the doubt and post here.

This Sunday, Bakugun and Dustari faced off in a large kingdom battle on Bakugun island with even some other kingdoms participating. The battle lasted about 20 minutes until things started to deteriorate and we called it off from there. I will attach a picture in this post which could be submitted for news (I already submitted some news but for some reason I couldn't add a picture to it).

The concept of the kingdom mode is pretty good, but the main problem I had is that once I rang the bell 3 times in our kingdom castle, people who would log on at a later date would not be in kingdom mode. For some reason they'd manually have to go there and hit it themselves to enter the fray. This isn't fun at all especially if you're having a weeklong wear with a kingdom, you're pretty much helpless if you weren't on when the bell was rung.

Secondly, the respawning point needs to change from the kingdom bell. In the instance where we were fighting on Bakugun's island, the Bakugun that would die respawned right at their bell and entered the battle immediately (which was taking place right at the respawn point). This isn't Bakugun's fauly, but at least 50% of the attacks will be on kingdom isles themselves and that could cause a problem.

All in all though, it was a lot of fun even though it took a while to set up :D

Heres what needs to happen, dustari invades they place down a flag by the dock on which they invade from, when dustarians die they respawn there, when bakugun die they respawn in whatever town their respawn flag is planted, also people dont respawn immediatly, like they should be a ghost for a certain amount of time or like in counter-strike, if they die they go into spectator mode and their camera is fixed on someone in their kingdom, that way they cant go and spy while in gohst mode and look for hiding enemies etc, then when when the certain amount of time is up they respawn at their respawn point. Only problem with hte current system is, since dustari is not penalized for dieng, they have no reason to stop attacking. they die they respawn and come back to fight, they will never retreat because there is no reason to retreat even if they are losing, i mean what would be the point of retreating? Anyone have any suggestions on how to rectify this. Maybe since no one wants to have it where you die and lose exp, then i think whoever kills you should gain a bit of exp, that way you arent going to want to keep respawning and rushing into battle when your team is losing because if you do this and keep getting killed your making the other army stronger. this is realistic because whenever you do something or practice something you get better, so if I lets say i beat you in a fist fight, im gaining some sort of fighting experience from fighting you, but if you lose you arent really losing any experience if anything you are gaining a little bit anyway because even if you lost you learned for your mistakes, therefore when you kill someone in kingdom mode you should certainly get a bit of exp even if they dont lose any, because as I said before if ive got an army of low level peasants Im not going to just go and rush some higher up elite units if I know that every time i rush them and get killed they get better and better. see what im saying?

Better idea :)...
Give each king a little flag. This little flag can be placed in four corners of any landmass and that land will become that kingdom's territory. Therefore allowing Supply Depots and Forts to be consturcted :).

BUT the other kingdom can take it back by destroying the four outside flags and the middle flag, therefore giving ALL the buildings within that square to the defending kingdom.

How about: Each kingdom gets a flag, once placed it allows 100 respawns on that point. It can also be destroyed by weapons/spells so its your own fault when you place it too close the other kingdoms castle/flag. Since the respawn number is fixed the kigndoms need to fight more organized, only let the good warriors fight and the others producing fortification, food etc.

That sounds good. Maybe instead of destroying the flag, though, hitting it could reduce the number of respawns it holds. Every time the flag sustains x damage, it loses one respawn. Then it wouldn't be so easy to just sneak along and destroy the flag to get an easy victory.

Not 100 respawns, that would have to depend on how many people you have, but i like the idea that once the respawns are up for that flag the battle is over...even though this dosent have anything to do with me because pirates fight on the sea mostly...(need different types of ships, and protected ports)

I also had one more problem: When the battle was over I thought the King could take everyone out of kingdom mode by hitting the bell twice, but apparently every kingdom members must individually disable kingdom mode themselves which can be quite annoying. I think there needs to be a second bell or something that will let you disable your kingdom's kingdom mode.

Also, something needs to be done about players that are logging on AFTER I rang the bell twice not being in kingdom mode ( they have to manually do it themselves)

TeRRi2k 11-12-2002 06:52 AM

respawns?

100 respawns might be a bit less/more depending on how many people are on at that time x_x anyway, there's always some idiot that goes out because they wont listen and get themself killed. Maybe there can be two options the king can choose: the 100 respawn thing, or <insert number here> respawns per person.

Quick basic question

In kingdom mode, is item loss enabled? I saw nothing on graal.com about this case...
