News Bar
Atleast 1/2 of the players on graal dont look at the website or look at the forums. Because of this, there is a break in communication, so people dont take notice of things such as new rules. I think when we press ''Start'' to connect to graal, there should either be a bar at the top or the bottom, with updated news, they could easily do this by making bits of the graalonline website appear in there, but atleast by doing this all players can keep upto date with news. This may break down rule breakers by quite a bit. And also stop account sharing if its posted in there, as everyone could see it.

Good idea.
But about the account sharing. On the fourms it is a lot easier to spot than in game. Spotting account sharers in game is extremly difficult. |
oops, I ment people could see that account sharing is banned, and against the rules. Should for any reason they not already know.

Couldnt add attachment when I edited the post so I double posted (Sorry)
Heres how it could look like (Screenshot) As you can see there is the main news, and also there is a ''Last Updated'' so you can tell if its new or not (Incase you cant rember what the last news was, or you havent been on for a while) Also there is a ''Read More'' button, which could launch the graalmain webpage, where all the past news and current news could be displayed =D |
Is it possible for it to take the latest news and put it onto the exe?
I know it can be done from in-game to the site but I'm not sure about that. |
Should be able to, it would be better if they had a page JUST for this, so we dont get the menu and things in the news bar. And if you click read more, then it opens up the page with the bars on. I dont know if its possible really, anyone care to verify it?

Being able to view these things ingame (without popping up a memory-hungry browser seperately) would be nice...
|
Well im just suggesting its built into graal at the start and so you dont have to load a browser.

Maybe it could be solved using the NPC Server.
NPC Code: |
Or have it as another inventory screen. Q=Inventory, M=Map, N=News? Or just add a tab to the inventory?
"Just check the forums" is hardly helpful to the average player, who would have to exit Graal, start MSIE, find the forums, do a search, write down the answer, close MSIE, and restart Graal... Of course, in a perfect world things would be so explicitly documented in-game that "Check the Forums" and "Read the news" wouldn't be necessary, but I suppose news is inevitable in an expanding universe. |

Hey im on about Graal News on Single-PW news, most people do it through PM anyway! Im on about graal general news such as Rules, Warnings, Problems, Errors, Bugs, Prices etc... So unless Stefan/Unix/Managers want to update there Control-NPC everytime there is some more news, lets not do it through a NPC Server. And why does everyone have to close graal!? I cant have 2 graals, AIM, MSN Messanger and 2 MSIE open! And I onyl ahve 196MB Ram! 0_0

That is still enough for opening a PM window. Prices? If you are interested in them you can open the webpage. (You don't need to check so often). Rules? Only when something important has changed you need to inform the players. To get a total list of all rules you could write a script which sends the list after the player sent a PM containing "show rules" to the NPC Server. Bugs/Problems/Errors? Only those which are urgent need to be listed. Again, for a complete list you could add the PM command "show bugs" Lots of work for each update? I don't think so. I could update that in half a minute. |

I dont think wrong share accounts if you dont hack or do bad things...like,2 brothers will play Graal but cant pay 2 p2p's..they must share one..but,if you share it and the another person just do stupids things..then,that's your problem, the rules will be same. Quote:
