Classic Worlds
Classic worlds, are a serious problem in my mind.
We have about 75% of the worlds, using classic tilesets. Thats very .. "trasy" for a professional game. My suggestion is, to have all the servers that want to use the classic tileset, be connected to Graal Classic, by a serverwarp or something. And then have any other ones that use their own tileset, and have new ideas etc, appear on the list. Because if you go from classic to UN or delteria, seeing the same tileset, just makes it feel like you are going on to another place on the classic world. Or if you go on classic, you might think its part of UN or something. I tried introducing graal to friends from school who like games, they were so lost because its not very professional, and thats what I know unix and stefan are striving for. And if the worlds dont LOOK different, alot of newbies might be confused. Also, if it becomes an expectency to have new tilesets, then maybe we might see some better quality. No, a new tileset does NOT mean you remake grass and terrains. It means I want some snazzy trees, new bushes, etc. Also, if it would appear on the list, it should have new character bodies. |
No, I dont think that that is a good idea. Good graphics artists are very hard to come by, and some playerworlds trying to make a new tileset to get on the list would end up looking 20 times worse than before...

I like the classic tileset.
Personally I would like to see someone create a great player world using it. |
Ok say we use your idea we would have like 400 people on Classic. Too much LAG. The tileset is there to be used. Its just nice if people make there own. Like a bnous but you dont need to.

You think you can release game, with a cool storyline, and well made levels, but someone elses gfx and say "well good artists are hard to come by, so we used someone elses" I dont think so. IF graal is going for professionalism, thats the way to go. That also would bring more players to play all the servers, instead of just concentrating on one. |

And its not like going onto a different PW. Different GUI/Clocks/Maps/Players/Staff/Style/NPCs so its all different. And just because you can do good GFX doesnt mean everyone else should. You have a gift while alot of people dont for GFX so they dont do a tile set. And so far I havent seen ONE tileset I like. So if they Had to do one, they would probably do an ugly one and it would look worse. As if the tileset isnt just right it makes the PW look boring and horrible.

There is nothing wrong with the classic tileset, I prefer it...and saying PW's are no good who use it, or saying they should be combined or whatever, is wrong

Dude I dont know whats happening with you, you are weird today. Im not saying anything like what you suggested im saying. Just you dont have to have GFX skills to make a PW. Also dont try and get around the work block on the forums, thats a rule breaking offense.
