New Player World: Athage
 

Heya all. I'm realitively new to Graal. I was already welcomed over in the General Graal forums, and I was told that if I posted here, I might get a little more results.

Basically, I've always had this world I've wanted to create - and I think it would do good on Graal. I have a lot of it drawn up, but much of the core rules are still missing. I'll post below what I have so far in terms of graphics and rules. Until then, I am wanting to know how many people would be *interested* in helping. This is not a final say so in who will help with Athage. Right now, it is in it's early planing stages. I'm looking for criticisms on the rules, a little help with them, and some more ideas. Feel free to write up all the rules you like - If you really want to get that much into it, I appreciate it - but don't get angry if not all your ideas are used, or if/when Athage comes out you don't get that special staff position you wanted ;) .

Right now, the only *real* work that can be done are the graphics. I'll include a beastiary later for people who would like to try out for the graphics work. Umm.....I think that's about it for now. Let me start uploading attachments.

Whew....I think I got the map looking pretty good. I might go around the edges and make it look more like worn parchment later, but for now, I'm happy with it. Comments? Questions? Anything at all, feel free to post :D

I just realized that it might be a little difficult to read the map above - atleast for other people :) . Here are the name of the islands, from top left to bottom right: Verbos Islands, Orcel, Tolymos Islands, Chega Islands, Squee Island, Lucidia, and Siren Island.

Also: Those little 'mountain' looking things are actually supposed to be waves. I tried to get this map to look like the really old maps people used to make with the 'Here there be monsters' and the little waves and everything. I thought about making the world look flat, and having water flow over the sides, but that's just too much for for a map right now :)

Ahh well :rolleyes: . They were a free service for forums. You can upload your pictures there for free, but they only last a week if even that. Hang on, I'll find another place and post them again :D

dont use any old graphics, that means no old heads, no old bodies, no old tree graphics, no old ne thing

id advise making a new body template too.

Acctually that's a very good graphic, quite accurate as to how maps used to be drawn long long ago...

probably with a cloud with a face and mouth blowing them, and rip curled.

Ok... Let's put it this way... If they saw a whale on their travels they would draw a giant man eating dog with fins to represent it... Perhaps the waves looked like mountains to the people who saw the things drawn in the map...

Well, it's my map. And I envisioned it having waves that look like mountains. *shrugs* . If I had really wanted to get that indepth with it, I *might* have spent enough time on it to actually draw a sun blowing clouds in it. Seeing as it's still in it's planning stage, however, I really don't justify spending that much time on a map. Either way, I'm happy with it, and the majority of the people seem to be happy with it also. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion though - I don't mind that you don't like it. What I *don't* like though, is you coming into my thread and saying "wahts up with that cracka man" and "more like not caring to weed through the post to decipher bad graphics", when clearly I'm not on any "cracka" and they're far from "bad graphics". They just don't fit your view of an old style map. You should have atleast said "I don't like it." and not just come out and decide because you don't like them, that they're bad graphics.

Nalif, it looks amazing. Don't listen to Warcaptain, hes paranoid that your server will be better than Enigma...or wait..what the hell is it's name now? Thanks bye.
