I honestly don't know...

What to say about this story other than "The Principal is a *****."

CrazedMerlin 06-01-2001 09:15 AM

It involved no real weapons but he got taken for the rest of the year? I always used to draw weapons in 3rd grade :(

06-01-2001 09:19 AM

Ha, all I do in study hall is draw counter-strike situations and weapons.

manton 06-01-2001 09:29 AM

That is just plain stupidity.
"OH NO HE SI DREW A PICHURE OF A WATER GUN WE MUST TAKE ACTION@!"
I have drawn a picture of a guy holding a sword before, does that make me some sort of serial killing freak? No.

06-01-2001 09:31 AM

For my sketching in art class, I draw pictures of my graalian self with true proportions, including the cyrix-rainbow6gun-shield. My art teacher thought they were great.

waar 06-01-2001 09:32 AM

he is old enough to be hancuffed and ridiculed in front of his peers, yet not old enough for his punishment and name to be released? odd.

vergil 06-01-2001 09:33 AM

its because teachers are stupid and overconcerned with stuff like that after the last 5 or 6 school shootings
it says he was put in handcuffs, what the crap, its not like he had a gun WITH him

someone is getting a spanking! oh no!

manton 06-01-2001 09:34 AM

If I were arrested for every time I drew something like that in school,I would have the electric chair by now.

Psyker 06-01-2001 09:35 AM

haha same here, denryuu! :D:D!

FatherDante 06-01-2001 09:47 AM

Well, Waar, the law protects minors from having their names released, that's the reason for that.

But it's utter propaganda. People these days have no grip on reality, only on their fantasy. Many of you know I love weapons. My past-time at school is taking a piece of paper and sketching as many melee wapons as I can think of on the page. I must have drawn at least 90 images, and I would have never been concerned I'd be removed from my school for it.

It's another disgrace to the education system.

JungleKid 06-01-2001 09:48 AM

I have one thing to say: America is getting stupider and stupider.

"Is our children learning?"

Obviously not, if people are getting expelled every day...

JungleKid 06-01-2001 09:52 AM

I remember someone in my study hall had a picture of a hand grenade with them, that they hand-drew, textured and made look really cool. They sent him down to the office and he got suspended for a week. :o

IceHawk 06-01-2001 09:52 AM

E-mail at our school was bannef because some kid probably said "****" over it.

last year i put a safety pin through the eraser of a pencil. just to play around with, i was bored. my social studies teacher took the pencil away and said "you know i am going to have to report this, right?". i did not know there was anything wrong with it, so i just shrugged and said "mmmk". later that day i get suspended for 3 days for having a weapon.

We're not even allowed to surf the internet. We don't get e-mail accounts. Internet at school is supposedly "for research only." Too bad, I surf anyway! (I haven't gotten turned in all year.)

CrazedMerlin 06-01-2001 09:54 AM

I got 3 days out of school suspension for calling someone "stupid" and a "jerk"
:(

JungleKid 06-01-2001 09:55 AM

I got suspended for having "overly pointy" scissors in my bookbag

I don't believe you. That's a more minor offense than the weapon drawing thing. Give me a break. This one kid said "I'm going to kick her ****ing ass" in front of a teacher, and the teacher just scoffed but did nothing.

IceHawk 06-01-2001 09:57 AM

I got an inschool-suspension for saying "**** you *******" to some *****

06-01-2001 09:57 AM

Heh...

Heh. Want more proof America is full of idiots? For starters, let us compare Japan and America. By 8th grade, Japanese school children learn CALCULUS. In 8th grade, what do we learn? Pre algebra. Another Japan-America comparison...Japanese children read comics that have things much, much worse than guns and those are not confiscated, and yet, in America, kids draw guns and make childish threats and get taken out of school for a year? Every kid draws a gun now and then and threatens a kid.. It's dumb.

Psst, I'm getting a sig soon. ^_^

IceHawk 06-01-2001 09:58 AM

I want to live in Japan :(

Vermont is worse. Trust me, you do NOT want to live here.

And ZanderX... one of these people I knew named Andy Brown took Calculus in grade 8... and a lot of people I know took Algebra and Geometry.

JungleKid 06-01-2001 09:59 AM

Also, my friend pointed this one out
Wal-Mart censors CDs that talk about guns, but 100 feet away they sell them to people. What's with that?

waar 06-01-2001 09:59 AM

a friend and i always tell each other that we will kill each other when a teacher is near by. it is fun!

damn, that's pathetic. we do things like that here in canada and nothing happens.

besides, that's why they're called safety pins , right? :D

IceHawk 06-01-2001 10:01 AM

I got suspended for a week in grade 7 for throwing some kid's books in the garbage, but when this ******* gave THT a concussion last year, the kid got 3 days

JungleKid 06-01-2001 10:01 AM

I got suspended once, on that day with the scissors, which was unfair

06-01-2001 10:02 AM

Heh, Marle, you do have a point, but the fact is...Not a lot of kids in America come up to the quality of intelligence that exists in other countries. I mean, the average 8th grader doesn't learn Calculus, though there are exceptions nationwide. You can't get school e-mail and stuff? That sucks. I go to a tech school, e-mail is required and net surfing is adored. ^_^

JungleKid 06-01-2001 10:03 AM

America has to be the most hypocritical country out there

I got my worst enemy an out-of-school suspension for one week... *whistles innocently*

Psyker 06-01-2001 10:04 AM

I knew a kid who's in high school now, but used to go to my school. Anyway, we have music classes here and he played the clarinet. The teacher got pissed at him for not practicing, etc. etc. and smacked him across the head. So the kid, picks up the chair he's sitting on and smacks the teacher with it.

Nothing happened. To the kid, that is.
