I've posted one similar to this before, but I lost that before I could redo it, so I had to retile the entire thing.

Plus, this one has the bridge in it.

Post your comments, and rate it on a scale of 1 to 10.

Mainly it's nice.
Just a few things I don't like about it.

At the top right hand corner, the river doesn't seem to look right compared to the rest of the river. Don't know why though it just doesn't seem right.

A little to much yellow for my liking too but other than that it's really nice.

Oh and who that that bridge graphic?

i spy two tile errors, but nothing really bad.

good job.

haunter 10-22-2002 05:58 AM

I like most of it, the thing I dont like is the river. The "grass to shallow water", and "shallow water to deep water" edge tiling don't really appeal to me...

Amagius 10-22-2002 06:10 AM

I like the bridge and the randomness. I did see 1 tile error, but the second I didn't spy. Also, the water seemed fine, but I didn't like the small "pensiula" feeling with some of the grass. 8-9/10

Torankusu 10-22-2002 06:39 AM

Where are the tile errors?

KujaBTK 10-22-2002 07:01 AM

"7/10 rating" Looks ok to me, but I just don't like the table.

iroc_2001 10-22-2002 07:05 AM

the only thing that doesn't really appear to me is the little part behind the house has mushrooms and the rocks and a kabul sprout and then the rest of the level has none of that stuff
Just seems weird to me but overall nice level i'd say 7.5/10

nice job

haunter 10-22-2002 07:28 AM

I spot one tile error on the cliff, a tiny corner is missing...

That's because I refuse to fill my levels up with stuff that you can't walk over. So, basically, I put it behind the house, where mushrooms usually grow.

Waltz5 10-22-2002 07:52 AM

I love that bridge graphic!

As for the level, really good Toran. I like how's it not all filled too, sometimes people feel they must fill it up.

very cool toran, ummm, i like the water alot, there are a couple errors but those are easily fixed...I agree the table isnt stupendous...maybe a bit...bigger, or just better shaped perhaps. hmmm, besides that it looks real nice...OH maybe a little less straightness on the grass-shallow water edges (like...dont go the same direction for more then 2 or 3 tiles)
7/10...nice.

-edit-
actually, the water edging isnt bad in the straightness category...maybe just a liiiiiittle bit less straight....and the house isnt bad, but not up to the same quality as the rest of the level.
PS
Bridge GFX is 1337.

possibly because I didn't feel like making a 30x30 tile house.

--Chris-- 10-23-2002 07:55 PM

i love it, the only fault is the grass in the middle of deep water. that makes it look screwed...

Way to make no sence. You can make small nice houses, most big houses look ugly. Small ones are usually nicer.

It's "sense."

Houses that take up more space can usually have more decoration on them. Plus, 30x30 was just an exaggeration.

I added an extra room and chimney; it wasn't supposed to be that big.

This is why you compose large houses out of several smaller ones :)

ONE DAY

Seriously, though... I'd say about 4-8 months maybe. I wasn't all that great, but one day it just clicked, and I progressed more and more as I practiced.

Kuza 10-24-2002 09:01 AM

i think i remember when you started toran, it was like during the last birdbird contest, or around that time. And you made a couple levels and you basically learned how to tile through the forums...i remember some weird stuff.

...?
what the hell are you talking about?
I could make levels waay before I got the FAQ Chief job on 2k1, I just couldn't do mountains and add any creativity and sloppiness to the pathways.

Aknts 10-24-2002 09:45 PM

Level = 4
Bridge = 9

haunter 10-25-2002 02:56 AM

I don't remember when I started making levels... I remember my first LAT job though... on Xone, out of like, 50+ tryouts or something I was the only one Vi]{t0r picked. :D
