rc problem

sorry if this isn't the right forum for this i wasn't sure where to put it.
I'm having a "problem" with my rc.
Every time i try to download files from a folder on the ftp to a certain folder on my computer, the files always end up in my windows/temp folder and i have no clue why...
also, after i try downloading the files and they go to my temp folder, whenever i try to download any other files it won't let me..
Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

iroc_2001 10-03-2002 03:05 AM

sorry for the double post. But something else is screwing up now.

When i right clicked on the rc icon in my system tray and clicked log out, the icon disappeared but my rc remained opened, and now to shut it down i have to press ctrl+alt+ delete and shut down the program....

does anyone have any clue on how to fix any of these problems?

They are supposed to go to your temporary folder. And you just drag all your files into the folder you want them into.

Actually mine don't, I can just drag them straight from NC to anywhere I want...

the way the rc file browser works is that it puts the files into your temps folder, then moves them to the folder you dragged it onto

Just drag them from the file browser into the folder you want them to goto on your desktop.
That's what I always did.

Yes you must use drag&drop. The explorer doesn't tell the RC where to put the files, so the RC is saving them in the temp folder and gives the explorer the filenames, which then copies them to the destination folder of your drag&drop operation.
May be in a future RC version i will make it possible to change the temporary folder or let the RC delete the files in the temporary folder when being closed.
Don't know about problems with the system tray thing, normally that can only happen when the explorer crashes.

Update your RC.

You should add something so that you can upload files like so:

That would be spiffy :)

I'd prefer chat commands in the RC because the file list takes ages to download and is sometimes even crashing my PC.
So "/uploadfile" and "/downloadfile" and "/dir" (allows to search for files like you can do in DOS using the dir command).

Mirroring the files offline? I could do that now, but I'd still have to upload them using the File Browser....and that takes centuries. :(

Automatically mirroring wouldn't be good, because downloading all the files would take quite a lot of time, too.
