Because the internet banner advertising market is dead.

I still say there should be some sort of option you can select to show them or not.

i forgot there were ever ads, i didn't notice when they stoped.

I noticed cause when I went to send a PM one day, it was all blank at the top. :( Those ads were fun.

i always disabled them, cause i dont like adds, i used to have a slow ass connection, so it made me lag (how pathetic, i know)

they lagged PMs to hell. which is why they were taken away; i presume.

toalls were more frequent when the ads came, and now that they're gone, toalls are less frequent.



i actually miss all the toalls :(

That's cause Cyberjoueur hosts a Bomberman game.

they were removed because they didn't make graal any extra money. they can't LAG a PM. that's ridiculous.

I still say they should go back up, or have an options to have it there or something. :mad:

I would say that a very small amount of Graal players would want the banners and adverts in their PM window.

I don't think anyone would bother click on those ads...:o

Sometimes when Im on the forums I get a pop-up ad ;O

You get that from spyware, not GCC.

Remember the banner with the baby in it? it was like for diapers or something but it was in German, and the baby was almost naked, and everyone would say "OMGHF! KIDDIE PORNSXZ IN THE PMS!"

The banner ads were taken out when P2P came out... If I remember correctly... p2p server didn't have popup ads, and then classic still had them... then when it all moved to p2p, all ads were removed. Although I could be wrong, and all ads were just removed as soon as 2k1 was released.

They removed them and went p2p because, like said above, advertising through banners just isn't very profitable now. They switched to players paying for service, thus p2p.

They were taken out in that big version upgrade.
