Hats Template

Hi I was wondering if anyone could give me or post the hat template for making hats. Or if someone could direct me to that I would appreicate that.

Thanks

A template? How would that work when each one is unique?

Acererak 09-10-2002 10:21 AM

to show where each sprite begins and ends, and where the head would be

I think Stefan once posted a hat template, try searching on the forums.

I remember I requested that template.

And I know it's out there... somewhere.

let me give you the biggest tip ever with making sprites and handling templates:

download and open paint shop pro 7
find the menu where it shows the "turn on grid" tool (it's either in VIEW or EDIT), then go back to that menu and turn on "SNAP TO GRID".
change the grid properties to 16x16

you can make that the default by going into paint shop pro's preferences (preferences are found in the FILE menu).
you can now see images as sprite templates. each box represents a 16x16 area.

I think that 48x48 may be the correct grid size for hats...let me check...

*checks*

Yeah, that's right. But for head placement just keep another hat file open and experiment a lot.

of course it's 48x48

but the point of snap to grid is that if you put a selection of pixels on the image, it will snap to the corner of each square. since it's 16x16, every three squares is 48x48. the point of them defaulting 16x16 is also for other graphics in graal (especially tilesets)
