New Graal Version a MUST!

I think a new Graal editor needs to be made. One that has support for NPC Server commands, or something you can switch to. And make it have a 'mini' NPC Server or something. So you can test stuff OFFLINE but have it like it's really online...
The computer I do 99% of my coding on is in my room. It is not connected to the internet. I rarely get on my parents computers unless I'm on the net. So now that almost EVERY server has an NPC Server (actually it MAY be all right now), I cannot really test my scripts often enough, and it is a hassle. If there was a Graal Level Editor (or just seperate proggy) that would allow me to test as if an NPC Server was present, it would be MUCH better. Or something at least that at the BARE minimum would NOT give errors to NPC Server commands, it would be much better. When you have to delete parts to make sure the debugging is finished, then re-add or make a seperate NPC, it is a hassle and wastes time. What do you guys think? Stefan... hope you read this :P

yes, npc server support should be added to the 'test' button

but how would serverside commands work offline without a server?

Knuckles 09-09-2002 10:02 AM

..maybe have a NPC Server program thing that you host off your PC..

he he. I was more thinking of like a 'mock-npc server' so it would be able to actually use the commands properly. Like a toggle switch NPC-Server/Non-NPC-Server to make it so we could test. And if not that, then the serverside functions NEED to be in there. You could make it so that if a //#CLIENTSIDE exists then it needs to read certain commands and say like ERROR: Command needs to be Clientsided!

p.s. Knuckles, in response to your edited post: EXACTLY what I"m talking about :D :P

The problem with that is that a hacker could easily figure out how the npcserver works and learn to hack it. But it's still a good idea nonetheless. I would really like to learn npc-server scripting w/out having to test online.

Um, there is nothing WRONG with that x.X Hackers could find it easily anyhow =/ For god's sake I have seen the source files for the *******... it means nothing... and you can easily hack it w/o knowing how it works x.x

Unixmad fixed the setup, but the new graal.exe is a few days off. See also: Bugs reports

I know, I read it :P I hope it has support, and perhaps a mini-npc server for some skilled NATs :P
