string array help ...

1 Attachment(s)
I am trying to make a little select script, nothign fancy,
using string arrays, Im using hat images here
as my first attempt.

What am I missing that no images show up?
I saved the filenames of the images into
a string array,
it must be something where i am
accessing them wrong?

Or am I totally off the wall in my algorithm?
Maybe the solution is staring me in the face?

Any help would be great, this is driving me buggy...

dude

did you even look at the script?

Accessing the sting array just as you said
is in there, but it does not work!!!

How do I access the string array value
in the script that i posted above
for use in a showimg command?

aarrrgghhhh

I have tried about ten ways from sunday
to make it display the value of the string array
unsuccesfully!

Someone please post a WORKING script
that
creates a string array
accesses the values in the string array in a loop
showimg each value

Kai, i tried what you said, it did not work
in the playerprop #c command
nor the showimg command

just something that works!
One Little itty bit of code like this please!

ok

thanks for the help

my indentation = clicking the "style" button most of the time

also i remember you said you were 19?
in a previous post?
I been programming since before you were born
and i know you dont care but im saying it anyways.
After so many languages and lines of code
see if your train of thought dosent get derailed now and then...

sleep was used because the image changes would have
happened too fast otherwise, i tried it without the sleep command and its better with sleep in this case.

a 1 second timeout is ust as long as a 1 second sleep.

Yet you ask for help from someone you seem to value so lowly? I find this hypocritical almost.

(hypocritical probably isn't the best word to use)

but

did i ever once say ""Kai, help me?" The question was open to ANY AND EVERY scripter who knew the answer.

and about increasng the timeouts,
i added a sleep instead to intentionally complicate the script.
I meant to do that and I knew the alternative.

Its a habit from writing open source code that people pay me for
(yes, i actually get paid to program, not gscript of course).

There are simple ways I could do things, like document
and make algorithmic flows consistent.
But then anyone can look at the code, follow it,
and change to upgrade without me.

Part of preserving my space at the place i work is this
intentional complicaiton of things;
I know how it works even though its more work
for me to remember, others won't know what to do
without time and effort - so they are likely to keep me around
and i still get paid.

Actually not a bad job preservation habit to build.

Prozac, it doesn't matter how much you whine and complain, Kai will not give in.
