Barbarians can get 300exp and 20 plat from a mushroom, priests can become immune to hunger (ok, so maybe 50% are not bile) and can cast amazing spells of hurting or healing, Sorcerer can use their godly powers to fry 50 men.
Alchemists, Thieves and Warriors have no real advantage, (maybe alchemists) Perhaps later thieves will get better with improved stealing and trap laying, but what about the humble warrior?
Why should we stick with this class when we could be lv8 with 1000plat or casting Godly spells or never hungry? What is special about the warrior?
This is not so much of a complaint thread as it is a thread of information (don't know which forum this belongs in)

And exactly what spell could kill 10 men with 1 casting?

Ok, sorry I'm not a Sorcerer, so I wouldn't know, I just (like most of the post) gathered information from other sources. So Can I Have a real reply, i.e. Warriors are special cos they can do this ________

Warriors, in my opinion, are already the best class on the server.

There is no BIG disadvantages between the classes. If I wanted to, I could do everything a barbarian, sorcerer, thief, or priest could do. It's just a matter of a couple stats diference at the start.

You buy skill scrolls, you learn skills. I could be a warrior with wizardry, praying, woodsman, and stealing. It's just a matter of buying the scrolls.

Yes, but I have spent 4 days on getting 500plat and I don't want to blow it all on a scroll I don't learn, whitch brings up another topic, why should we waste so much money on a scroll and then lose it all for no reason?

There is an entire topic about the books/skills being destroyed if you fail to learn them... Stefan just hasn't seen it yet I guess

Who cares if they don't have disadvantages? They don't have ADVANTAGES either. They start with less AC, WC, Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution than a barbarian would. The only disadvantage Barbarians get is a low inteligence rating and they are missing the literacy skill as well (Which Stefan said was a bug in a previous thread somewhere)

If you want to be a fighter, I want 20 Str, Dex, and Con. I want a better natural AC/WC level...

Warriors should start with the same AC and WC as a Barbarian. I understand the Primary Statistical differences, but why is the AC and WC off?

Then again, sorcerors aren't exactly the best class either. Being the only class that doesn't begin with a melee weapons skill (I think...)

Thats the whole point, why be a warrior when you can be a barbarian, and have woodsman skill.

I was just confirming most of what you said.
Right now, the inteligent thing to do is to be a Barbarian, Priest, or Alchemist.

Then again, this is an Alpha. Hopefully the classes will be balanced later.

Keep asking questions: ask questions like, why use any sword other than a Diamond Sword (or Diamond Fury or whatever, if you have one)? Why worship any god other than Bile?

It's the same answer for all these questions. RP. Role-Play. That's why. A person who wants to RP an intelligent, civilized warrior doesn't choose Alchemist or Barbarian for his class - he chooses (duh) a Warrior.

Yes but I wanna be special... I think I have narrowed it down to Barbarians being too good, they are better than warriors, stat wise and they have woodsman skill, that lets them get 300exp and 20 plat from a single 4 silver mushroom (From what I've heard), so we will have lv8 barbarians running around with 10K plat and the only thing they need is literacy.

Wait, so you think the average Alchemist has less intelligence than than the average Warrior?

Another point there, Warriors have no extra intelligence (ok, perhaps literacy, but thats only a 120 plat scroll), so are not "intelligent" civilised, yes, but anyone can act civilised, not good rp to have a civilised barbarian, but there you go.

LoL - no, that wasn't what I meant.

I meant intelligent as in Literate - as opposed to the average Barbarian. I wasn't really referring to stats at all.

Alchemist just contrasts with Warrior - you don't play a potion-mixer if you want to RP as a pure fighter. At least I don't.

Alchemists could be warriors that just want a way of making their own healing potions or poisoning their own weapons, so they can be self-sufficient, in some way.

Warriors are literate. Stefan also posted that Barbarians are SUPPOSED to be literate. I'll find that post later and place a link.

"ONLY"? (checks inventory) I have like less than 30 plat. Of course, I'm a Warrior, and therefore literate...... :) You're right, the warrior advantage does become squat if Barbs get literacy.

I aquired around 800 plat in 4 days, minus 100 plat for a ring and a further 80 for another, (980 plat in 4 days) It isn't really hard if you worship Bile or have worked out how to make the largest profit from hunting animals, he he.

Thats only if u go on 2k2 all day! For some of us we only go on at certain times in the day and so its quite hard for me 2 get plat!
