weight

i dont know if anyone else has noticed this but maybe the items should be lbs not kg??? EX| shovel is 30 kg.... thats like 40-50 pounds. wtf... when i started my account i weighed 210 kg... thats like 440 pounds and my guy isnt really fat or anything.
currently my guy weighs 285 kg, thats around 575 pounds. if anyone weighed 575 pounds they wouldnt be able to walk

RealJuggernaut 08-28-2002 05:09 AM

can we have a vote? either make stuff weigh less or change the kg to lbs (shovel = 30 lbs not kg)

Kaimetsu 08-28-2002 05:25 AM

NO. Your obsolete measurement system will not prevail over the infinitely superior metric scale.

RealJuggernaut 08-28-2002 05:36 AM

what are you talking about? i was on an elevator today and it said max weight: 2500 lbs/1136 kg.. how are you going to carry 285 kg???? and i live in canada and the measurment in canada is metric you retard, so what are you talking about: "Your obsolete measurement system "............. go to the poll: vote on weight to vote

RealJuggernaut 08-28-2002 05:40 AM

vote on weight

Your measurement system as in the measurement system that you support. It's not a particularly difficult concept. If they drop the weights then fine, but it's not really necessary. For all we know, gravity might be different in the Graal world.

RealJuggernaut 08-28-2002 06:21 AM

maybe gravity is differant but i assumed it would be the same because ive never seen anyone say that

(Note: Cap. names are key words to make people understand)

kg = UNIVERSAL
lbs = Only THREE (3) nations use.

And since Graal is a UNIVERSAL game... we use the UNIVERSAL system... if we used the other system only THREE nations would understand.

Though most players are American... There are still some players from outside of the US.... so therefore to bring gobal appeal... they use the UNIVERSAL system into use... otherwise people would be like

"wtfs does lbs mean?"

RealJuggernaut 08-28-2002 06:31 AM

good point but all im saying is stuff is to heavy

It doesn't really matter anyway. The units are arbitrary, all you need is a coherent scale.

ChocoboGrn 08-28-2002 10:19 PM

Lbs means Pounds.
Don't ask who came up with that, probably some idiot back in the 1200's who couldn't spell/abbreviate correctly.

Anyway, who cares. "I want the last two letters to match what I want!"

Does it REALLY matter THAT much? You can't find anything else in the game more PRESSING than the issue of a few letters? God, just post every typo you see in the game in the bugs section then.

BlKnight 08-28-2002 10:43 PM

The system is fine BUT the differences between items is screwed up. For instance corn weighs like .02kj.

The American System was made when America was formed...
Which was in the 1700's... not the 1200's because a person couldn't spell.

The pounds system originated in the Roman Empire, but the pound system used today that consists of 16 ounces equaling 1 pound was made by the English in 1300's or 1400's.

The Americans never made their weight system, they just used English weight system.

Also, are you implying that no one knew how to write until the 1700's?

I'm just saying this entire arguement over kgs or lbs is really arbitrary. You're complaining and discussing over a few letters. This is a game where the weight unit doesn't even have to have any relation to our world's weight measurement systems...

Just make the weights seem appropriate...
If you're going to make a sword 20 kgs, don't make a shovel 30 kgs.

I believe Thomas Jefferson created the American system

Since Europe follows the kg system I believe the Romans did...

The english didn't use pound because that was a currency

I never said they could read/write -_-... read before you talk.

Europe didn't always follow it. We're just ahead of the Americans in switching over.

At the time, our currency was shillings and tuppences and junk like that.

RealJuggernaut 09-01-2002 07:59 AM

49 people have been here but only 7 voted including me...
WHY DONT YOU PEOPLE VOTE?????

Kaimetsu 09-01-2002 08:04 AM

Because they don't care. It's a stupid topic to make two threads about.

Antago 09-01-2002 08:51 AM

the topic is so...black and white.

hardly anyone posts here anymore. no one wants to waste the time they already waste being here on something as black-and-white as this.

konidias 09-01-2002 08:37 PM

Just replace kg with "woobles"... it really doesn't matter what the unit of measurement is, as long as it's logical.

middo 09-07-2002 10:26 AM

Jeez people, its not that big of a deal, who cares of a slight mispelling,
ive seen quite a few mispellings on 2k2
and thats pretty minor.
