RC Idea
A way for (at least) admin-level staff to see all Mass PMs, if not directly sent to the administrator, queued in RC. This would make it so players couldn't harrass others by just not messaging the GP.
|
Isn't that like an invasion of privacy? I wouldn't wan't an admin looking at my PM's. :D
|
He said a mass not a PM, simple solution, get on your player account, change your name and head, go on RC and listen. :)
|
Argit, that is pointless, and invading! I would be SO offended if someone did it to me! If they're NOT massing to staff, that is their right...

Right, except that it's not, and if they're using a macro to spam or advertising a trainer it's important that the RCs be able to stop that.
|
good idea BUT i think it should be in something like a mass conversation button, kindof similar to the TOALL box, it would avoid having to constantly open PMs

I think it would be a good idea. And of course it would not hurt the privacy, since only mass messages would be readable by the RCs. But maybe it would still be nice, if even simple PMs and toalls would be archived somewhere, to have a prove if somebody claims to have been insulted heavily. Of course only the head GP or the Server Manager should be able to view the archives. If you really have a 'secret' message, you shouldn't use Graal PMs anyway...I don't think there is any security. Download PGP and use e-mails. |
Yeah. It's even in the disclaimer that Graal staff reserves this power.
Mass defined as any message going to 2 or more people - but not guild messages, as they're not likely to be spamming each other. |

If there's a guild with a spammer, that spammer should be kicked out of the guild. If there's a guild with a script kiddy on board, that script kiddy should be kicked out of the guild, or it will go badly for the rest of the guild.
|
If it's sent to multiple recipients it's public. Many, many people (From my experiences, I'm sure other GPs/staff have noticed) that all continuous mass'ers put Staff on their buddy list so they just ignore them and don't msg them.
|
And besides, we already deal with your problems and listen to you all day, if you message to the mass public then we need to be able to see it.
|
Double posting annoys me. So you have sucessfully compleated doing that instead of using the wonderful EDIT button .
On topic: Maybe good, but I'd still like a serveroption to DISABLE PMs ALLTOGETHER :(. |

Hear hear!
No sense implimenting a post office system in a world with PMs! |

Oh deary me, I would love that. :p I posted about it a while back but everyone said it was kinda stupid. :( |

That would be PURELY pointless, I can't believe anyone would WANT to disable PM's =/
---Shifter |
Only because you're a total *****. Think before posting, kthxby3

Disabling PMs/toalls/toguilds would be nice for role-playing and it would require more strategics for guild fights, but disabling PMs shouldn't affect staff.
Staffs should still be able to send PMs to everybody and everybody should still be able to send PMs to the Staff section. |

Censorship bad.
I fail to see how he can fail to believe anyone would want it. 3 or 4 of us just said we did, what more proof is needed? Yeah, staff get to keep PMing... Scripted PMs would be really handy though. Then you can have things like players have to learn Telepathy to send messages across the server, or they have to buy a Carrier Pigeon to send the message...you can have war zones where each side does not, in fact, have instantaneous communication with the other... |
So Tyhm...possibility of GPs being able to receive mass messages not designated for their reading?
|
There's a crude form of scripted PMing on newmain...if I hadn't been fired it'd be less crude by now, probably. It lets you PM people who are offline, basically, though I have it using a Message Viewer instead of sendpm or somewhat
|
*shrugs* I think a mass window on RC is a good idea, but it's not up to me
