Good idea or bad?
Since Server-side npcs are so hard to code because you can't see if they work, why doesn't Stefan (Not like I'm saying Stefan do everything, just can't word it right now. o_O) make a program that when opened after Graal Single player is, manipulates a NPC server so you can test out and learn about server-side scripting?
Of course the program wouldn't be able to be used on online mode, but it will help more people learn how to script. So, good idea or bad? |
Thats been suggested a million times. :D

it is a good idea though

so basically you want a "npc server emulator" huh? It has been suggested many times, and yes there is a reason why it hasnt been done. Lets just say you were a hacker? Now that you have this emulator you can sort of see how the real servers work, you can use this information and find it weaknesses and do alot. Maybe someday, but i dont think today stefan will do anything about not being able to test npc server scripts offline. :( Personally i would rather beable to play without mass hacking then beable to test scripts offline. |
Well, I don't pay attention to this forum >=P So I wouldn't know.

I think it's a good idea, but it would be way too easily exploited. But, maybe one day it'll be close enough to fool-proof that it would be worth it. I don't see that day coming any time soon...
