special old bie rate

i just got an idea like if your account was in use for more then like 2 years you get like 10$ off if you upgrade that would be cool for oldbies what do you think should stefan do that??

Graal518 08-09-2002 02:09 PM

I HIGHLY doubt that will EVER happen. EVER
EDIT: Forgot to bold and italicize it.

GodSpeed 08-09-2002 04:43 PM

I like it! :D

You're not an oldbie anyways, lel.

It was a nice attempt at a good idea.

feivel 08-10-2002 02:54 AM

I love the idea :D
(I just hit the two year mark)

ghostsamurai 08-10-2002 02:57 AM

Neonight:

I think Neonight is close to two years, but I know TylerAKANeonLink is really really really old. ^_^ Good idea. That's two ideas he's had that are really good. I especially like the mini-server idea.

feivel 08-10-2002 03:07 AM

is TylerAKANeolink
the name of his old account or something?

Neonight: Yes, it's my really old account.

Demention 08-10-2002 05:05 AM

it wont work

Stefan and Unix dont know who is "old" and who is new, it doesnt record when you signed up first, i have asked stefan before.

Yes... Stefan wants you are money.

Max-imus 08-10-2002 08:50 AM

This topic would have been so much better had he just said "Players that upgrade for a year and then reupgrade that same account when the time expires should get a small discount off of the price of the reupgrade."

HoudiniMan 08-10-2002 09:40 AM

1st year full
2nd year 10% off (ooo 4$ off ph33r)
3rd year 20% off
etc

average player might save a WHOPPING 4$... but it would be a good incentive for reupgrading

G_yoshi 08-11-2002 12:56 AM

It sounds good...but it might drive the prices up a little :x

Judge_Spunky 08-11-2002 01:10 AM

Sounds like a good idea.
Anything to take the price down from like $60 - $70 CDN for a year.

HoudiniMan 08-11-2002 03:53 AM

realistically, the way the keep raising the price... you'd probably not be saving ANY money with 10% off, just paying the price you did last year. I think that might be a good idea too, you pay the price each year that it was when you started, when they raise it the new people will have that price forever etc etc until they don't have enough money and their computer *breaks* and the records are lost and everybody has to pay the current thing of 400$ lol

I doubt Graal will be around for 100% off. ;)

GodSpeed 08-12-2002 05:18 AM

I still like the idea, it is pretty expensive for people who do not have a job etc...

Googi 08-12-2002 05:51 AM

Umm...no, Graal is already low on money.

Torankusu 08-12-2002 05:55 AM

i didn't appreciate having to pay 30$ twice, only to have to pay 10+ more a year later.

konidias 08-12-2002 12:00 PM

It's like the cheapest massive multiplayer online rpg that I have seen. I don't think we need to make it even cheaper. You guys should be happy they don't start charging like 10-15 dollars a month.

Sure you might say no one would pay for it, but lots of people said no one would pay for Graal at all, and that's obviously not the case. ;)

I agree :D If you like playing this game then support! Otherwise go elsewhere since this game will die. Realisticly, if this game actually gains some ground in the rest of the MMORPG realm, prices might come down to encourage new players to pay.

Heck, Stefan, et. al. have down what they can to make paying for Graal easier; even going so far as to allow players to buy a "ticket" so they can experience all of Graal :)

Show me another online game that provides something like this (only those that charge money to play online).

I fully understand why unixmad is a little resenting of people sharing accounts. I know that I've given my GregoryYoshi account to my brother, but he is responsible for keeping it registered if he wants to use these forums.

I stand corrected by the great Geno.

Flamingblaze 08-12-2002 12:56 PM

I've been playing years and I don't like it myself....too many impostors out there #1, also I just don't like how Graal is discriminating against the newer players, it's rather dumb, the newbies should be helped as it is their money as well as ours that helps keep this game up and running.

GodSpeed 08-12-2002 03:21 PM

The thing is that I just develop on Graal, I hardly play on it... maybe there should be a reduced rate for staff/developement accounts that are only allowed to go to one PW or something? *is very tired, if it sounds dumb just ignore it*

Account ran out around 7 hours ago, now I must nibble on my cookie slowly to make sure it doesn't vanish and I won't be able to post.

lol, nibble away, what a nice way to put it
anyways, bring back pw accounts if you want to do that :)

Flamingblaze 08-12-2002 09:59 PM

They were abused too much by people giving their friends staff accounts just so they could play. It resulted in, if you can believe it, even worse local PW staff than we already have.

Jinx 08-12-2002 10:49 PM

I would be completley fine with Stefan and Unixmad charging money for graal IF THEY MADE GRAAL WORTH IT.

Right now, graal is not worth $40 or whatever they're charging now(Last I looked it was 40). There are too many bugs that are not being fixed, too many problems, too many staff that are corrupt.

Many of the PWs are not worth the money ethier, whether the levels are not up to par, or it's fulled of corrupt staff.

PWs should get staff accounts again, but not as many as they want. They should get a certain amount of free staff accounts, which would be based somewhat on the average playercount. Such as, each server would get 5 free staff accounts, and then an additional free account for every 20 players on the server. I personally think it's stupid for a team of people to slave their butts off trying to make a great server, and then have to end up paying to even log on it.

Then again, this is just my opinion.

-Jinx

Flamingblaze 08-13-2002 02:11 AM

Hmmm I like that Jinx, hell I'd even pay like 10 bucks monthly to pay provided that Stefan would increase the staff and get some people to LISTEN to us. STefan is SO overwhelmed by PM's that none of us ever get to get a word in to him. Every newbie and their mother PM's him with things from pointless hello's to "oh no I hacked and got my retarded self banned by using a trainer cuz I'm a ***** please unban me". Alot of these servers have what 5 people play it total a day? And 4/5 of it is the staff of that server >;\ even fun servers with great concepts and levels are ruined by the corrupt staff of the server.

Think of all of the people who have been banned for credit card fraud, and who hasn't been banned yet for it. :\

infantry costs like $5.96 a month
if they charged $10 a month they'd go broke
no one.. would pay $120 a year for graal..

And Graal is only $3.33 a month if you were to pay by that method :p

$3.33 < $5.96! We have a winner!

Flamingblaze 08-13-2002 08:14 AM

I'd pay 10 measly bucks a month to play. Then again I have a JOB unlike most of you so yeah I guess that's a bit much, I guess 5 a month isn't overly though I mean come on you can find that much in your couch :/

Yes, but I'm pretty sure Infantry's services are more than just hold the servers. Graal Online is just the programming and server holding. That doesn't even account for ten percent of the work that's been put into Graal whole. Please tell me why somebody should pay like $70 Canadian for a product that was made by players? You're not paying for the program, you're paying for the stuff made by other players.

-Shaun

BeZeRkEr 08-13-2002 11:31 AM

thats why infantry has a playerbase
like many times greater than graal
its has actual quality gameplay
graal just gets old fast
and lots of people aren't reupgrading because of 1.) the cost and 2.) the fact that the only reason to stay around is the forums or old friends

Flamingblaze 08-13-2002 12:22 PM

Heh only reason I'm around is the few friends I've made, many of whom are rapidly quitting :/ the PW's just aren't what they used to be....I MISS ELVEN LANDS :'(
