Handling of to-be-banned accounts on Classic

In the interest of working for the public, not for ourselves, I wanted to ask the players on the forums what they thought the best steps towards handling to-be-banned players on Graal Classic are.

Depends on the case at hand. If it's obvious that they're cheating or whatever then autoban. If there's an element of doubt then interrogate them.

It depends on the situation. If the person is a hacker, then auto-ban, don't even warn them. If it's something like swearing, maybe let them explain themselves.

AlexH 08-08-2002 09:59 PM

Obviously they should have a chance to say their side of the story so you can make a fair judgment but if you have seen them walking over walls or something similar just ban them.
However when you do ban players you should put clearly in ban comments why they are banned, the date and your name.
Always the ban reason goes in ba comments, other stuff can go into their normal commeents I just find it more efficent to put it into ban comments. :)

EXPLANATION FIRST!

LOA--Paul 08-08-2002 10:25 PM

I dont really understand the question
Does it mean
if we think we have a hacker (ie bad flags but unsure)
or does it mean like if we see Flip and Da Cheeta

Chronos 08-08-2002 10:34 PM

I'm just asking, vote and post an explanation if you'd like :)

Dean 08-08-2002 10:36 PM

It's best to see both sides of the story first, whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

LOA--Paul 08-08-2002 11:03 PM

Well you're kinda proven guilty when you have like 50 gothearts in invalid levels

Googi 08-08-2002 11:10 PM

ALWAYS EXPLAIN, not explaining = more idiots posting threads here about how they want to know why they were banned.

LOA--Paul 08-08-2002 11:35 PM

Dont the ban comments explain it?

Minoc 08-08-2002 11:47 PM

Autoban in most cases.

BLOOD_kane 08-09-2002 01:36 AM

if you deliberatly see them hacking? autoban, if someone tells you about it then talk with them, if its minor...then explain

Chronos 08-09-2002 01:59 AM

Okay

Jinx 08-09-2002 02:11 AM

They deserve an explanation and a chance to tell their side of the story. Some people seem to forget that graal is now p2p, and people are PAYING THEIR MONEY to play. You do not want to accidentally ban someone who's done nothing wrong.

Yes Jinx. That was the point of the poll.

LOA--Paul 08-09-2002 07:53 PM

I personally believe that things such as invalid heart flags, and catching people red-handed walking over walls, and invalid lvl 3 gear should all be banned the instant they are spotted, but if htere is the slightest bit of doubt then they deserve to tell their side of hte story because people do pay for this game.

Send wallhackers to jail only, so we can get out ;D

No, but most likely someone who's downloaded GE2, which I saw at the bowling alley in Babord. I even have that guy's accoutname, I just keep forgetting to give it to someone. ;)
