Armor
I think that each kingdom should have its own unique set of armor. Each would have equal stats, just different show during battle.
The Samurai would of course have black/red armor, with the traditional (kick ass) Samurai helmets, with vanadium swords (they really do look asian). Dustari should have the usual European/2k2 armor. Regular chainmail/ironmail. Swords, diamond blades and what not. Pirate Crew should have daggers/fencing swords. The armor, I'm not sure what they should wear. It seems Pirates never really wore armor. Zormite would have scalemail stuff. Blue, traditionally. As for swords, I have no clue what they should have. Possibly a pearl sword? Forest, wooden armor, wooden swords. They use their natural resource to make powerful armory. Each kingdom shouldn't just be supplied with these. The town blacksmith(s) should have to craft them, but the town miners should have to get the minerals. Each class receiving pay, from the town taxes, for their work. The blacksmith could make a set of armor for each recruit to infantry. This would make good show for wars, it would be boring to see every kingdom running out in the same set of armor... |
But i would want black armor, and im not samurai.
*Problem* |
I do believe that Dustari's colors are black and red?

Thats a really good idea, though we'll need a lot of blacksmiths. Maybe we can have some NPC ones to increase RPing? ;)
Dustaria's colors ARE black and red, they have been for awhile. I don't walk around wearing red white and blue all the time. Samurai shold have like crop based colors, that is a major part in their lives. Like yellows and green and stuff |
It is a great idea..but Hiyoshi can you not say things like Samurai helmet....it really pisses me off..and the Crop coloured armour thing? ugh..Feudal japanese great armour, the types mainly used by Samurai was never crop coloured, usually Black, and hardly ever red...though it sometimes had reddish decoration... There needs to be more Japanese weapons in my opinion...like the Nagamaki, Wakizashi,Sodegarami, Lajatang, Shikomi-zue, Kusari-gama, Jitte, Sai, Fukumi-Bari etc...I'm not suggesting that these are all implemented as 2k2 weapons..just that more types of Feudal japanese weapons are eventually used...

i like the idea.. And i really like blacksmithing... i could be the local Blacksmith except i am the prince = D lel
|
and i like the idea of equalizing the stats so like 1 person who trains all day cant kill the whole opposing army. = )

But I meant long after the invention of powder, anyway. If I remember correctly, Japanese feudalism lasted a LONG time after Western Europe had abandoned it. Thus the muskets (earlier guns were called something else, I forget what). |

I think Pirates pretty much wore over large belt buckles and pretty much anything with belts and big belt buckle
|
Custom armor WON'T WORK, because of the fact that you can really have wooden armor and a plate mail and expect people to beleive that they have equal stats, Pirates TRADITIONALLY don't really wear armor, hell they barely wear clothes... Samurai always wore light easy fitting outfits for fast movement, and grace, elves would wear wooden/leather, As you can see, all of these kingdoms are from slightly/not so slightly different time periods, we are not going for realism, if we were it would be 4 dustari's or 4 pc's or whatever.
Do as it will, each kingdom should not be limited to a look, if anything have armors that look different, but can be worn by anyone. Either way, many classes won't wear the heaviest armor. |

I think its better to have kingdom with different styles of defense
Dustari Armor: Pro: Strong in defense Con:heavy weight Samurai Armor: Pro: light weight Con: Weak in defense Pirate "Armor": Pro: medium in defense Con: medium weight Zormite Armor: Pro: Slightly light Con: Semi-Weak in defense Forest Armor: Pro: Medium in defense Con: Medium weight If there was more to armor you can add more pros and cons but this is pretty much all I see =/ Weapons would pretty much go the same way. |

Wooden Pirate Hook - 1 board, 1 iron Metal Pirate Hook - 1 board, 2 iron blades Diamond Pirate Hook - 1 board, 1 diamond that would be awesome :(! |
Ghost, Samurai armor was not light-weight and weak.
My charatcer is a Naganita wielding Samurai warrior. Generally there were "Naganita Samurai" and they were very strong armor because with their Naganitas they were excellent agaisnt cavalry as well as they were good at defending bridges etc. |

GOLD PIRATE HOOK! I dislike the whole "diamond weapon thing" |
it would be near impossible to 'craft' a diamond in those times anyway....

I think there should be 5 different attributes each 'kingdom' weapon gets
1.) speed of weapon 2.) strength of weapon 3.) range of weapon 4.) Endurance of weapon (maybe add something like in Dark Cloud where the weapon eventually wears down and breaks if you dont repair it) 5.) wight of weapon each of the 5 kingdoms gets a really bad, really good, and 3 OKs in each category, or maybe 5 different levels to make it more 'balanced' |
Hmm... maybe you can make it so that say for example... a Dustarian Steel Long Sword... around maybe +6 atk? but if a Dustarian weilds it... they get a bonus of maybe +3-4 because its their kingdom's weapon?
Just my 9 cents..... |
oh boy i cant wait
oh man i can't wait... i've been in Samurai for so long in G2k1 and now i get to be in it in G2k2 :D
