Too rich for my blood

Is it just me, or are 90% of the items in the shops WAY overpriced? I mean who can afford something that costs 11k platinum? If you guessed no one, ever, then you are correct!

I'm guessing this is a mudlib thing? I hope this is fixed soon.. or if these are actual prices, how do you except any of the players to actually afford this stuff? I could work getting bread or mining rocks for hours and only get maybe 100-200 platinum out of it.

Also, here is something that is more of a bug.. sometimes shop items appear on the floor, and even outside the shop on the ground and stuff. What is up with that?

I suppose they forgot to use x,y to lock the images down.

As for shop prices, you're right. They should only be maybe 100-200 plat

I would imagine the scrolls that teach you new skills would be pretty expensive, but most of the current prices are pretty much unbuyables. Plus I kind of find it silly how varied the prices are. Sometimes you could find a scroll for 30 platinum, and then the next day you see the same scroll for 3050 platinum or something. I also noticed that it seems to be adding 0's on the end of stuff, maybe it's a bug, but like I see two of the same scrolls in a shop and one is 150 and the other is 1500. It's not very well made.

If an item is identified, the price is a looot lower. Something can go from 1000 platinum to 300 or less.

Yes but you need a scroll of identify, which costs mega bux. :(

Torankusu 08-06-2002 04:24 AM

i thought it was the appraisal scroll? I've had it many times when I was trying to get the alchemy scroll.

Woodsman identifies foods.
Alchemy identifies potions.
Thaumaturgy identifies wands.
You dont need identify to identify something, skills can identify different things :)

LOL Then wtf is the point of the identify skill? (oh and literacy identifies some scrolls and books occasionally)

Identify can identify anything so if you don't have any skills like the ones I listed you can identify with identify O.o

ChocoboGrn 08-07-2002 12:57 AM

There is no identify skill. That's a spell.
Oh, and jeweler identifys rings
Alchemy identifys alchemy ingredients, potions, AND amulets.
Literacy identifys spellbooks and scrolls.

prices = so messed up

Flameuss 08-26-2002 10:06 PM

I dont think there over priced if you make them any lower poeple will get a **** load of items and he economy will crash like 2k2 :) they should make a small system where you need to repair armor and rings or they get worn out and break that would be good for 2k2 economy and will prevent something like graal 2001

AlexH 08-26-2002 10:21 PM

I seen a cauldron for like 34000ish plat.
Does the server even have that kind of money on it between everyone?
Prices should be lowered but not to the point tat they are easy to get they still need to be hard t get.
Or money can just be made easier to get.

konidias 08-27-2002 04:34 PM

Yeah, we aren't talking about making everything dirt cheap. I mean these items that are like 10k plat that shouldn't be. The worst thing is books and stuff... Good spells cost like 1000+ plat, and then you can "Fail to learn" them, and they disappear. Would you like to flush 1000+ dollars down the toilet?

ChocoboGrn 08-27-2002 08:41 PM

Actually, the highest level spell I've seen was a level 13 spell called Destruction. I think it would have cost about 300 platinum.

From what I can tell, cost goes up depending on what level the spell is.
