Bug abuse...resets, and staff?

As if things weren't bad enough with auto resets and resets from the sack and death by PKers, I was reset by Er1c today.

He had a reason, I had used a bug to level, the one where casting a spell could wipe the room clean of items, refreshing them and therefore allowing you to identify items an infinite amounts of times for EXP. I was level 10 when I was reset due to a sack bug. In a day or two, I had reached level 8 again. Okay, so it was an unfair advantage to level so high, so quickly. I understand that and I was reset when it got fixed. Even though I wasn't abusing my power or anything, the most I ever did was Kill PKers that were killed newbies left and right at the starting beach.

Great. Now, beyond the fact that I was one of the people who reported the bug and that this is an Alpha server used specifically for testing, and that I still did WORK for my exp...did Er1c HAVE to reset my items as well? My ap, my time, EVERYTHING? I had level 3 or 4 in physical, I earned that on my own right from killing monsters.
Then again, I don't think Er1c has the power to DO that though...

Besides that, when I said that DragonX and even Er1c himself leveled using that bug, he replied "We are staff." and "We are allowed to test the bugs." Then he reset me, then he ignored all of my PM's after that and logged off several minutes later.

Now, okay wait. So DragonX and Er1c can use bugs to "test" them but Player's can't do anything about the bug? I SAW DragonX and Er1c USE the bug and several other people use it. As far as I know, only two people were reset, including myself. So shouldn't the staff who were only "testing the bug" enough to reach level 8 be reset as well? Otherwise, wouldn't that be abusing staff powers?

Oh, I just checked on Graal 2k2. Er1c was level 10 with over 586,000 exp (I had about 180,000 exp when he reset me) and DragonX was level 8.

Don't get me wrong, I don't wan't Er1c or DragonX fired. They both do a great job with Graal 2K2. I just don't believe they should get any benefits from the bugs they are working on before they get fixed, whereas the players who abuse bugs get reset.

Hm. Apparently a few minutes after I sent this, DragonX restarted and seemed a bit pissed about it...so Er1c or Unix probably forced him to, meaning Er1c will (hopefully) restart as well in order to enforce his own rules. Still, please reply with your thoughts anyway...:o

I reset you for abusing a bug and you complain... would you rather be banned?
I am a volunteer. I do other stuff then Graal. I went to see the movie Signs, and it was good.
When people complain to me about PKers, I feel I should do something, but I'm not able to do anything with RC that I feel fits the punishment. With me being about 8 levels higher then other people could get (legitamently), I can easily PK PKers when I get complaints, and, through testing, I've found that this has worked quite well.

No one made me restart, I warped to DarkVillin while he was at selectscreen.nw so it restarted me so are you happy?!

I used that "power" to kill Pkers as well, I didn't see you care at all when DragonX hit me and suggested you help him kill me, when I fought back and killed you and then dragon ran away...

Banning me for a bug in alpha stages? I was one of the people WHO REPORTED IT TO YOU if you don't remember...and it was after I reported it to you that I noticed you climb suddenly in EXP.

Oh and one LAST thing. Didn't you say the other day that PKing was legal?

How is reseting someone for doing something wrong (that couldn't be reversed) corrupt?

I think he means that you abused the bug...but reset others for doing the same.

I also help people if they get stuck.
I warp them to land instead of unstick me.
I asked once to unixmad to warp me when I was stuck and he warped me to unstick me. People are lucky I don't do that to them, since I am nice :) :D

For the whateverth time, I just want to know why you weren't reset for doing the SAME thing! If you say its cause your staff thats abuse of power!

Oh, and I already said I'm fine with you for resetting me...(that one time)
