Hello everyone...

For awhile now, our school has been plagued by a dangerous new disease called GAVA (Girls Against Violent Activities). It's an organization that was formed by the girls (Who normally cringe against the gym's walls during dodge ball) that's bent on wiping out all of the games that make PE fun. So far, they've managed to ban dodge ball in one of the school districts, referring to it as a "violent sport". For more information about the whole ordeal, click here.

Is something like this going on in your school? Well, it's happening in mine :(

Dodgeball is banned in my school too. But we play "Asteroids" instead. Which is the same exact thing, with a different name.

what kind of WIMPS would DO that?! It gives girls a bad name! I love P.E., it's quite fun. Especially when I get to throw volleyballs at guys in dodgeball.

heh, at my school (in england) girls arent made to do pe if "its the time if the month" you will be surprised how many girls are CONSTANLY on the blob. heh

but allmost all violent sports have now been "discontunined" we arent allowed to do diving, baseball and rugby. i can understand rugby but they dont have 2 play. but baseball was discontinued after someone had thier jaw broken (man that was funny) and diving when my friend fell off the top board and ended up in a wheelchair. but he was acting like an ass so i dont think other people should be made to suffer because some people are being stupid. but hey c'est la vie if one person ****s up every one feels it.

when I was in elementary school everything sucked because tackle (the only fun) football was banned since we kept wasting the school's ice packs with injuries :(

Girls do everything that the guys do in my school, this includes a marking period in the weight room.

When I was in school, we never played Dodge Ball. We played Trench Ball, it's SO much better than Dodge Ball.

I hated my grade seven teacher because she said the girls didn't have to do anything because they weren't as athletic as guys and she gave 'em good marks.

I have only gotten into a physical fight once, however, and that was against a male that was a year older than me. Yes, I walked away triumphant, and now that I know some taekwon-do, I bet I can do even better... not to mention I'm taller than most girls my age... being tall really sucks.

I'm just saying I think being homophobic is pretty ignorant. So is being sexist, and that's what I attacked my grade 7 teacher for.

Ive gotten in like 8 or 9 fights, about half of them havent been real fights but pretty big arguements, 2 of them were from a kid named Austin, who still this day thinks he can beat me up, but I keep prooving him wrong, other was this older guy, he tried to push me down my school stairs, I ended up tripping him down them, and then he came back up and we got in a pretty big fist fight. Luckly I came out winning! Then we went to the office, and he started crying saying my friend makes fun of him everyday of his life. Hes a idiot.

I may be intelligent, but I'm no shorty when it comes to height. I'm around 6 feet and I can lift my friend 3 feet off the ground.

no joking im 6.1 ft and I think this whole... group of girls banning violent athletic stuff is a bunch of baloney!... they are propably just not "pysical enough" in a sence of like... oh no the ball is too fast and if it hits me i will moan... Gyes are like that too but it seems that these girls are just plain *****ic and lazy and that the fact that the parents went along with this (implyed by the banning of dodge ball) shows how stupid america has become... Im not sexest i bet some boys would do this too if they could but these girls probaply have the evement of "Pain and ouches" that come along with this game (in other words they dont wana play the game so they tell their momeys and daddys about how alfow it is and wala ban) so its just how snooty and lazy and manipalitive kids have become.. .I must admit I am only 14, Dodge ball is not fun when you are not playing it...
its late, i just did a 4 page lab write up of ground level ozone at my hight school... and the glow of my lcd screen is starting to make me see lots of red dots>... is that bad? O_o oh yha I rembwa when i was a little punk... and this stuff nevwa happend cuse Parents saw right through their kids... I'm not strong so I can't say anyone's crap but banning games because some people may play them violently? That's a load of crap!!:mad: I'm not popular at my school so in PE the people who hate me sometimes just go for me or throw the ball harder or faster when it's my turn. In Gym, we played rugby on our knees with a medicine ball, on the size of a wrestling mat. There was a lot of injuries. :)

Once we had a paper fight in social studies in 8th grade cause we was like studdying world war 1 and stuffs. And it was teh left of the class vs teh right. AND SOME GIRL BROKE HER ARM

i didnt mean to be sexist, but i tell it how it is. unfortunally i have grow out of playing in traffic (i now prefer trams) and yes im in college so i ahve nouthing better to do

Umm?! In Germany there is no sport.

In England (at least at my old school) girls are forbidden from playing any sports with boys except for the ones that girls practice every PE lesson and that the guys have never even tried before. That generally evens out their chances a little bit so they sometimes win.

Gah, I'm being sexist. But I have that right and the bruises to prove it. Almost every week at Tae Kwon Do I spar with one particular girl. She's something like 15 (two years younger than me) and a bit smaller than me, but heck, she doesn't pull any punches. The whole point of sparring in our class is that we don't make contact until we're competent enough to handle it. She isn't yet, and she sends headshots at me time and time again when I'm not even tapping her because of this danged sense of male honour.

So, one day she's attacking me. Bang! Punch to my face and I'm reeling back. I go back into my stance again, half expecting an apology and Bang! Another one straight to the side of my head. I leaned back and turned slightly to protect myself against more blows, when all of a sudden I realised two things:

1) I was very angry.
2) I was in the perfect position to unleash an extremely powerful turning punch to her face.

Yeah, I'm not proud of it but in the circumstances she wouldn't have even hesitated. So why should I play like some softy just because I've got more muscle mass? I've got just as many nerves in my face as she has so it doesn't hurt me any less to be hit. And hey, she hasn't been nearly as aggressive since then so... result?
