I like the red vines but otherwise theres nothing special about it.
It could use some lights by the water, and maybe dim it with a backpal.

SavantMiles 07-11-2002 08:30 AM

one thing, try to use other grass detials besides those weeds and flowers

RichKevin 07-11-2002 08:31 AM

alright will do

Amagius 07-11-2002 08:37 AM

A.) Pretty Good, but is that for the Dev Try out?

Torankusu 07-11-2002 08:42 AM

yeah, it's alright, but for a dev. tryout...well. It's pretty good...

RichKevin 07-11-2002 08:44 AM

okewl i get mraise from THEE torankusu i feel special:)

Andor_RC9 07-11-2002 09:17 AM

well lets see.. the water is coming from UNDER the tree? I dont think so. The cave in the mountain is tiled wrong, the whole needs a different black tile and the steps look nice but the sides have a few tile errors. The water is ok.. but the shallow edges could fit together a lil better. All together I give it a 5/10

Cid_Night 07-12-2002 12:09 AM

ok here goes...i like it but it needs work in detailing...it appears that you have a basic grasp of the tileset as there are no tile errors taht i could see and you did some edge tiles without erroring....ok but here goes, this is how you can make it look proffessional and kickass and get actual praise from toran. OK, edge tiles, edge tiles are complete eye candy but they are good, around your little riverish thingie there basically dont make it so straight and squared. Every 2 or 3 tiles make it twist and turn a little make it move and never be truly straight. Also dont make it come from the tree as brent said, make an opening in the trees and make it look like it came from somewhere...better yet make a whole path through the trees where the water can form a river through as this will give you a chance to play with the edges more and make it really cool. As for the red leaf gfx, place it better, but its a good thought. The path, take the same advice, make it a little wilder, good choice on the tiles for it as they are pretty and match the level, but just make it move more and flow better. I like your tiles around the stairs, cool idea...no problems there. The little fence around the rock...unless you have a reason for that, i say get rid of it...Good use of shallow water tiles around teh edges of the land, a good start there, maybe make it more interesting, but those are nice no real problems...Ah yes! and the best advice mmmmkay ever gave me, you flowers and rocks and weeds need to be placed so they look real and natural, not dispersed every few tiles. Make em in clumps in occassional places and then spread them less in other places, adds for a very natural looking and cool affect. Also sneak in some single swamp tiles and small rocks and mushrooms around to make it more dispersed and interesting...the tables are alright and everything else seems fine...take this advice and the level will kick...good start, i give it a 6/10 how it is now...

Back pal are you sick in the head? Backpals suck.

As for the level its self everything is to damn straight. The cliffs are all straight. The paths are all straight water is to straight etc... You also need ot add the light blue part to the river it looks wierd having it go straight from grass to deep water.

royce 07-12-2002 03:20 AM

Strong Points
  • Red Overhangs Over Water Fall
Weak Points
  • Trees Across top are too straight
  • Green Trees Need to be spread out
  • Tree Over Water need to be a image with transparent backround
  • Rocks near Green Tree are too straight
  • Cave does not use offblackish color
  • Improper use of bushes
  • Too Straight Paths
  • Too much rocks and such in shallow water
  • Stairway too unreal
  • Deep Water could be added in some small spots
  • Pegs surround rock looks really cr@ppy
  • Two Small trees are too straight
  • Terrain including flower and weeds look like you copy and right clicked
  • Improper use of Swamp tiles
  • Did not use the smaller plants
  • Table has too many chairs aligned the same
  • Visible tile error on cliff under Red Overhang on first waterfall

I hope thats it, thats all I saw.

LOL simply edit your own to make it fit, not that hard.

To be incredibly helpful, I replaced the tile with the pink in this picture so you could find it better.

Cid_Night 07-12-2002 06:08 AM

sweet, thanks guys, lol now i can fix the tile error that some guy took 7 points of my rating for on the other thing...haha go check out the "rate (sorry lol)" thread to see it, its pretty hilarious.

RichKevin 07-13-2002 01:20 PM

thx for all the help, the main idea of the red tree things over the river was to coversome tiling errors that i had no idea in hell to fix lol
