DL: New Developments. Updated Map. New Staff.

Dragon Legacy is changing its name to Rhune. There's only one reason really, dragons are too hard for any average GAT to make. Most of the good staff are already taken too. But I still have faith in the community! So, with that said. Below you'll find a current map of Rhune, with locations and kingdom regions. Don't steal our names either, that's why you were given your own brain!

So what kind of server will Rhune be? We want to stick to what made Graal what it is; questing, and guilding. There will be RPG elements in the server, but it won't be strictly roleplaying, hardcore stuff. Nope, pure questing and kingdom wars. There'll be fun events, mini-games, and side quests too. Rhune will be a simple server, but it won't be complex. It will have the basics, and so much more. We have a few jobs in mind, such as bookbinding, tailoring, and more. IM me on AIM for more info, my sn is kasuagi.

The current staff is small, but that's okay. As long as we can communicate, and get the job done. Too much staff, will lead to not enough interaction, and work won't get finished. Therefore, I'm hiring once again, click here for the application. We really need Level Designers, Graphic Artist, and NPC Scripters. These are the fundamentals of any server. If you feel you're good with ideals, development, and could bring new things to Rhune. Please, visit our old site, and familiarize yourself with what we're trying to accomplish as graalians.

Staff:

Kasuagi (Project Coordinator)
Kaelink (NPC Scripter)
Shrimp? (NPC Scripter)
Zakur (Level Designer)
Koji (Level Designer) (DEV Team)
Thak? (Level Designer) (DEV Team)
Arwen (Graphic Artist)
Crono (DEV Team)
Erishon (DEV Team)
Kirby (GANI Team)
Gimpy (Events Team)

Active: 11
Pending: 2

Map Key:

Kingdoms = Yellow
Other Locations = White

Pretty nice looking but seems level generated and the website seems to have a pic from Rag Online.

1) Yes. It's an outline.
2) The image is from an anime site I found. It fitted the theme of the server...

I have seen some that are quite good :) To make a 48x48 dragon sprite is not easy :(

The overworld is 256 levels exactly. Once we have a world online, and everyone gets tired of that. We are going to release the Elemental Planes, and the Underworld. ;)

Please IM me on AIM, I'm in search of a good Graphic Artist. No one seems to be able to make good dragon sprites.

WHIPENIE4 07-09-2002 02:59 AM

If I do make a dragon it be more because I haven't done any major pixeling in a while (bout 5-7 days) so a dragon could keep me occupied with something more challenging the latest thing i've done is my avatar which I made today but I would'nt call that challenging.

I have idea's in my head of what it COULD look like if I decide to make it, but do you have anything in particular in mind?

Not to be annoying or anything, but playerworlds these days seem to be...too square :( I already understand that definite overworld shape is restricted pretty much to a rectangle, but why not make it a little more lengthy? Not saying that a perfect 256x256 level overworld is bad, just kinda consistent with most other playerworlds I've seen :( Heck, even Graal2001 is pretty much a perfect square :x

Without terrain I don't see how an "earthy (round)" feel is possible.

Hehe. I suppose if Graal went fully 3D it would be different :)

I wish it would, I've learned how to make maps with UnrealEd so it couldn't be too hard to make 3D Graal levels :D

Ohhh, no way! Critisizm is always welcomed in my threads. I tried that, and for some reason I thought it looked weird. Guess I should of kept it after all. Maybe when the team starts working on the Planes, or Underworld we can try some new map shapes.

heh, thanks. I'm no more of an expert than the next person :p I feel it better to try and help than to behave like the majority and curse players away from making new ideas and projects...of course, I'm no exception in doing this either; maybe it's justified sometimes because the idea or project is not logically sound or it appears more to be some knock-off of the real thing :(

Just trying to promote diversity within Playerworlds instead of sticking to harsh and strict rules *looks at Konidias* :)

Crystal Caverns is a very common name people tend to think up when trying to name a cave area.

I don't remember where it exactly originated, but I believe it was a story about some super big treasure that was hidden in a deep dark cave. It was practically a suicide mission trying to reach the treasure and only one object per person was allowed to be taken. :o

I'll run into the story again eventually. I'll post the name when I find it.
