Ugh, screw this.
Hi, I quit. Call me if anyone ever learns how to actually roleplay. I probably won't be back for 2k2, because it isn't the game that is the problem, it's the people.

If you're leaving because you don't know how such "idiots" got into the kingdom that don't role-play, let me ask you this. What will happen to the "idiots" if they are not given the chance to role-play? They won't role-play, and they'll just get worse and worse. Then, later down the road there will no absolutely no more good RP'ers left. Every person I recruit into the kingdom has to know the theory behind role-playing, they have to know what OOC, IC, RP is, how to represent actions, what happens if yuo die in an RP event, how you can come back, they have to write an OOC, IC and an IC with actions sentence and they have to tell me how to show OOC messages in toguilds. I can't possibly think of what else I can give them that would prepare them for Dustari. If you do, please tell me, because you can't get ahead without having some experience. I'd rather let them have the expeience in Dustari than a rival kingdom. |
Re: Re: Re: Re: Ugh, screw this.
You can tell yourself as much as you want that they're going to learn how to roleplay in the kingdom, but the sad fact is that they rarely do. They sit and rot and do not nothing but toguild begging people for hats. Nobody even attempts to roleplay anymore, and on the rare occasion that anybody does, there's hardly a soul who stays in character. I have no problem with new roleplayers when they're willing to learn. Nobody in Dustari does. And yet, they're still promoted to higher ranks because they'll quit if they aren't.
If that weren't enough, even your high-ranking members are unbearable. I am so god damn sick of the constant whining and bickering between house leaders, and a few of them are no better than the members mentioned above. A character like Gryffon Durime's would be laughed out of town in any serious roleplaying environment. |
People want their characters to be too powerful. I.e gryffon Durime O.o. I AM MAGE, I HAVE STRONG PHYSICHAL POWER AS WELL, OH AND IM POLITICALLY POWERFUL AS WELL. Perfect char? Seems so..:/

We need RP police

I think an apology is needed here.
I flipped out this morning, and it was rather unnecessary. Frustration with a few select members of Dustari was vented on the entire kingdom, and it was completely unwarranted. Dustari isn't perfect, but it's the best thing on 2k1, and it would be stupid of me to leave it. While I can have higher quality roleplaying on certain forums, I don't want to leave Graal, and without Dustari, I realized I would have little or nothing to do. And while I do disagree with some of the newer recruits, there are several excellent roleplayers in the kingdom. If I have offended anyone with anything I have said above, I am truly sorry, and will give express apologies to any who request them. This thread will also be deleted, at the request of any Dustari member, but I would prefer it to stay up, so as to avoid confusion in game. Sorry. :( |
Don't worry, I know where you're coming from, and I still am working to fix it. You're a good guy anyway, I'd hate to lose you ;)
