NPC Control should have this...
 

NPC Control should have some sort of "rights" feature, so you can grant people access to certain scripts only or something.. I want to allow people to script using the npc server, but I don't want people to have complete access to all the classes, database npcs, and weapons.

I think it would be helpful.

i think with staff that you hire...you should be able to rely on, and tell them what to do, and what not to. And if they dont comply...that's why the "fire" option with staff comes into play.

Or, you could give them rights to specific files in the scripts folder...and no NPC rights, lol. I'm pretty sure all classes are controlled by the files in that folder, im not sure though.

Either way, solution number 1 is the best.

I believe he doesnt want to give people access to all of his scripts. Because some times people rip them off/give them out. He wants staff to be able to work learn npc server type stuff etc.. But only trusted members have access to important scripts.

Basically I don't want anyone but me having full access to NPC Control. Because as most of you already know, people steal scripts. I don't care how much you trust someone, most of the staff you're going to hire, you don't know in real life. They can stab you in the back whenever they feel the need.

The last thing I want, is all of my servers scripts to be handed out like 2k1 and several other servers have been done. "Trusted Staff" can be fired, but they can take all your stuff before you get the chance to fire them. Usually when a staff is about to quit the server anyway, they can just get all the files, and either:

A. Delete everything on the server
B. Do something stupid or argue and get fired
C. Quit

But they will walk away with all the scripts.

I just think if there are rights for ftp, there could be rights for nc.

I agree 100% :D Considering that most graalians are usually younger than 17/18 and many have the brain capacity of a 10 year old tend to be very vengeful or will do things if they don't get their way :p I would like to trust people more, but it's a little hard when the majority are very deceitful and are comprised of nothing but backstabbers that use one another to climb the ladder of power :(

Thats why you must use your superior intelect to decide who is mature, and wont stab you in the back. Sure things like that are bound to happen, and when they do...

1. You have decided to wisely backup your scripts once a week
2. Most players will recognize scripts that are stolen from your server, and will make the other server look like a rip off.

You can make it that you can say "door access to 'accountname'" And the person who he gave access to gets to open the doors and if the owner wants to take it away from him he says "delete access for 'accountname'" Then he could not do it again.
