A Matter that should be addressed

(X-Mann)
M1nt goes on every playerworld and hacks himself money and many other things, so far he has been banned around 5 times on classic these past 2 weeks, mostlikely more, some owners/co owners dont ban him right away, they just wait for him to hack a little things, then they cry when hes done to much. so i think you should all ban EvilZero right now, thats m1nts account, he will hacks millions of gralets, this creates problems. so there ya go and Nemesis might wanna go on Babylon and talk to the Co Manager, hes letting M1nt hack

Falcor 06-18-2002 09:31 AM

 ever more evidence we should requre an IQ test to access graal, however im afraid people would cheat on it.

WHIPENIE4 06-18-2002 09:36 AM

Should give evidance of this, plus MAYBE if the guy is smart he'll learn and not hack on other servers so best to wait.

ZanderX 06-18-2002 11:15 AM

EvilZero's also used by a friend of mine...

SinNetherwind 06-18-2002 11:35 AM

hacking is for idiots. 99% of those hack you and you dont know that, so m1nt is an idiot. also, its sorta obvious to tell if he hacked, i mean who has millions of gralat? no way theyed work for that. I like Enigmas system, where RC's get removed if they give out gralat and money was reset from the server, so now its very easy to tell who cheated.

There needs to be a player log saved to the server, for each player. Then every time the player does something important, it would be logged. It would basically have your entire Graal playing history in it.

So if you hacked yourself 100,000 gralat, it wouldn't show up in your history, and the staff could ask you how you got it, and no matter what excuse you made (ie, my friend gave it to me, I picked it up somewhere, I saved it) they could check the logs and if your story didn't match up, then you would be banned. I think that would be wonderful, it would put an end to cheaters completely.

True, but if a PW has an economic system, and the "cheater" is smart, they would not get a bunch of gralats, therefore less noticeable. Though some sort of player log would be good. It may have the opportunity to create a very gigantic file...

Well it would only save important stuff, and there would be a text file for each player. Detecting if a player gets items/money from an outside source wouldn't be all that hard.. perhaps having something check when the player has items or money added, and if so, check where it came from, and if it can't be determined, alert a message on RC or set a flag or something.

Setting a flag is bad if that's all the that it is going to do.
Sending a message to RC would be better and also making a text file of the message that would be sent to the RC in logs incase no RC are on.

Setting a serverside thing like a cheaters list wouldn't be bad. If you edit a client string, or edit your money or something, it would check, find out you didn't recieve it from the game itself, and add you to the cheaters string. Then the staff could just check it daily and handle the accounts.

Sorta like the gralat string 2k1 has for gralats.
It could set a string in the players string list with a variable showing how many times they have added something or obtained something they shouldn't have.

There is no Co-Manager of Babylon

Graal doesn't get hackers, it gets script kiddies. Even the ones that write their own programs are wholly dependant on Stefan's code to do anything with it.

you're wrong there, i know people who used c++ to make hacking programs a while ago for graal and crap like that.

MysticalDragonP2P 06-24-2002 01:16 AM

Well

Not really. All they would have to program is a RC type program that can access Graals database.

That kind of information could be leaked.

Cid_Night 06-24-2002 01:17 AM

This m1nt guy came on DD and massively money hacked and speed hacked, one more place he's banned to be added to the list.

warp2ukew 06-24-2002 01:20 AM

He was banned from andor last week

Tyhm 06-24-2002 11:13 PM

If they're real hackers, they don't need Graal's code to hack. So even if Graal did not exist they would still be hackers. You see the flaw in that logic? Nothing that they make, none of their "trainers" stand alone, they all require the existance of code written by Stefan to work. These guys can't just go onto D2 and hack, they'd be lost. That's why they pick on Graal.

brock128 06-25-2002 03:00 AM

I think evilzero was hacked, or gave his account to this Mint guy. The old evilzero didn't hack -_-
