"The New PW Order"
 

Hello. Just thought of something. Would anyone want to work on a PW? Not my PW, not anyone's PW. Just A PW. Everyone who wants to sign up post here, and you can work out your own hierarchy. Once that's done, another select a few names and have a poll for which. Then, just start working! I mean, most PWs fail because of peer apathy. This way, there is no way to tell if the PW will turn out well or not, just that you know it'll be better for your help. If enough people get together, it'll create a truly great PW. So, whadd'ya say?

Oh, and if there's too much arguing over the structure, just have some general workgroups, like "Multimedia Design", "Plot", and "Level Creation". Then, no leaders, heads, or whatever, just a bunch of people in a generalized group, deciding what to do via voting.

Yeah that is a pretty neat idea. Just too many things that could go wrong and I just dont feel like it would work. Good luck with it..ya could prove me wrong.

Management = backbone.

Having no management would eventually lead to...

-Power struggle between high staff members
-Poorly managed staff doing whatever they want since there is no Manager, leading to corrupt staff
-Unhappy players

no leadership is disorganization, why do you thing a government based on anarchism has never been pulled off?

Life is an Anarchism. Life is unbridled chaos with no order, jsut forced evolving to adapt and "survival of the fittest" So dont say Anarchism cant work. An anarchtict server i would find very interesting =)

In a Utopian Society it would work. But as we know, we can see that not all people work for ideals, the majority of the players of Graal, it seems, worry about personal gain over the greater good. It is the question of whether you find enough talent from a group of very few.

I agree, too many people are concerned with what powers they have for their RC -_-

There would have to be someone to manage everyone's responsibilities, otherwise it will be pure chaos among the group.

If something dosen't get done on a server like that, then the PW guys, (a lot more would be needed), would fire them. Everyone has to have a certain amount of work they put in, and I thnk tracking that can be automated. Perhaps even the hiring/firing process could be automated.

As for the Anarchism thing, no, there wouldn't be chaos, because no one in the project would have more power over it than anyone else. You see, there'd be no one with enough power to abuse any element of the system. If you told people that there is no more gold on Earth, they'd start calling silver, gold, and bronze, silver, you know? People go for the best possible "stuff" they can get.

You see, everyone can always agree that we're pretty happy with the system we've got. The world can't change, because it'd take too much time, effort, and money, for such an unknown effect. Well, with a PW, the world can be recreated with whatever rules you feel are appropriate, without taking any of those in excess.

Anyway, if the parts of the system that management were supposed to accomplish were divided equally among departments, and automation, then I think it could still work. As long as no one has any control on anything but their own uploads, it would work. But, as you know, most people are afraid of change.

Well, that's my rant.
