Should Elven Lands be put back up?

As said in the post "Elven Lands", Toran is trying to get the server back up. But the admins and the PW reviewers don't want to see classic servers succeed. What do you want?

mastervampire 06-06-2002 06:42 PM

My Opinion: This is a waste of space (This Poll) because of the fact that most people dont want it back, but those people never played it with over 120 players on, i loved that server, even rose to the rank of "co-owner" numerous times -_-;;. and yea i do want it back........*sigh*

Minoc 06-06-2002 07:25 PM

There are too many playerworlds with 1-2 players at a time =\

warp2ukew 06-06-2002 07:35 PM

BRING IT BACK

Timpan3 06-06-2002 07:45 PM

no.

InfernoOfFury 06-07-2002 02:23 AM

I personally dont have anything wrong with classic servers but since Elven Lands has already had its chance, I dont think It should be put back up.

haunter 06-07-2002 02:33 AM

Psyker made it a rule. NO REVIVING DEAD PWS!

zell12 06-07-2002 02:35 AM

I don't like it, about a year ago, Disturbed Limit got someone's RC, and put all the levels on Mithica, incluiding some retarded Gralat system, and it makes you say "Stefan is a money grabbing *****!"

Disturbed Limit was not affiliated with Elven Lands other than him playing on the server.

I just want it to be reviewed without bias. So what, it's a playerworld that was shut down because the owner was not where he was and Stefan did not listen to us. Valikorlia AND Delteria are back up, no? Revitalization of dead playerworlds has been exempted for two playerworlds, it should be exempted for every playerworld.

zell12 06-07-2002 02:54 AM

As much as I don't like you are EL, I have to agree... its only fair.

SavantMiles 06-07-2002 03:00 AM

i asked pysker about val, he said stefan did it not him, psyker emailed him about the playerworld resubmission rule but stefan never replied. i dont know about delteria though, the server sucks it should be burned

Uh-uh... The rule was made AFTER those PWs were either revived, or were in the process of doing so

SinNetherwind 06-07-2002 03:02 AM

YES.

Okilian 06-07-2002 03:09 AM

Actually, the rule had existed when Playerworld Management was around and Vincent was admin. Stefan ignored it and made it oblivious, as far as I am concerned.

Milkdude99 06-07-2002 04:02 AM

Something you guys missed here because it is on the PW Managers Forum and not posted on the main forum, All up and coming PWs will not only be judged on content , levels etc... The Manager will be reviewed and judged and a PW may be failed because of a Manager and not because of the PW itself. :megaeek:

Pith 06-07-2002 04:08 AM

yes it should

Milkdude99 06-07-2002 04:28 AM

Given that a certain degree of responsibility is required to manage a playerworld, all new owners will need to be reviewed and approved by Playerworld Administration in order to get their playerworld online, even if the playerworld itself has alredy passed. Also note that all new playerworlds will need to be reviewed by the entire review team, for a playerworld to reach Playerworld Administration for a final review, it must pass every reviewed, any single fail will deny the playerworld from even getting to Playerworld Administration.

Once again, constructive comments are welcome.

The new system is foolish.

How about.. the majority? Three passes and one fail, that's not real fair, is it? They all have different tastes.

konidias 06-07-2002 04:42 AM

I personally don't want to see old pw's revived.. I would rather see a new playerworld that is 100% classic.

Yeah same with me.

brock128 06-07-2002 05:06 AM

Hey, if they updated EL with more quests and stuff, then it would be better.

Would you mind deleting this thread? This poll is not exactly the kind I would've posted.

OH GOD. Elven Lands is not "classic" in ANY WAY besides the fact that it is old.

Oh, what is classic supposed to mean?
Antique does not sound right.

I was under the impression classic meant... Umm.. Well, I'd say classic.. but what I mean is... something that was excellent, really good in its day. Like Mario 3. There are bad NES games, which are old, but bad. And therefor they are not considered classics.

Tyhm 06-07-2002 12:33 PM

The definition as I've heard it is a style of server without NPCServ (more like Graal Classic than G2K1).

But you hate Classic, so I'm sure you'll be fine with lumping other bad servers in that category. :-P

You have one sided views, so you should stfu. EL was a classic, it owned all other playerworlds in it's time, it's not our fault stefan didn't pick up on the fact that HEYhost is a stupid fool who can't manage his own life, let alone a PW. He should have picked up on this, from the millions of emails, PM's and whathaveyou. Then put a new person in charge. Now that's not hard is it?

brock128 06-08-2002 04:43 AM

I don't people even know what EL is... It's not just like N-pulse. From what I hear, it's the BEST SERVER EVER.

But of course, I've never seen it, so I want it to go back up out of pure curiousity of what it is.

Carl_Elven 06-08-2002 01:21 PM

My opinion..

Well if it gets put back up, I think it'd get tons of people there. That is IF it isn't screwed up like it was when HEYhost kept messing everything up or when something happened he was never around. I was the one who always bailed that server out cause he was never there for the server. I always was there to get it back up when people would screw it over and get it taken down. You would think HEYhost would have done that since he was owner, but no. He never did. If the server is under good ownership, I think it'd do very well. But that is if it has a good owner who will always be there to fix stuff, unlike HEYhost ><. But if it gets put back up, I know where to get all the old elven levels. But I think if given a chance, EL will do very well. But people have to give it a chance. If you give it a chance, let it prove it's self worthy of staying up. That's all. If it does crappy then let it get taken down. But you should really just give it a try and see what happens. I think it would do good, but that's me. Anyways, that's all I have to say.

Carl_Elven 06-08-2002 01:25 PM

And btw

I agree with Brett. If it wasn't for HEYhost, EL would most likely be around still. But he screwed it all to hell by letting people put up stuff from 2k1 up >< Didn't help when I tried to warn HEYhost about Sov abusing his power and giving stuff to people that he shouldn't be giving out

You should give Hack some gratitude, considering he had FTP to upload older levels, etc, etc.

I remember Sovereign. He wouldn't have ever came to Elven Lands if it wasn't for me, and when he worked his way up to Server Admin and had all that power, he became the most corrupt bastard around.
