Book System

I think it would be neat (and make Graal feel like more of an RPG) if we had a cool book system, e.g. you could walk upto a book, open it (gani) and a nice book graphic would be displayed on your entire screen (picture an open book, arrow keys flip pages, graphic fontset for text, and fancy big leters at the start of each story) when you filp the pages you would actualy see an animation of the page flipping. Once we have this, I think it'd be neat to have some contests for players to write up history of Graal 2002 or "Graal : The Southern Islands"

Just a thought :) Walking up to a bookshelf and getting a message pop up just isn't doing it for me... I want more! :D

Thats a great idea maybe it could be used to learn certain trades/skills like to learn a new weapon skll you would have to read about it and practice it :D

It would also make the game much more interesting when there arn't alot of people on, or when you get bored, you can walk over to a book and have a good amount of reading or something, a bookmark system would also be cool, so you could have neet stuff like a magicians encyclopedia :) I'd spend hours just reading books :D

Maybe even bring it a step further and add some sort of Wisdom/Knowledge system where the more you read, the smarter/wiser you get. High Wisdom/Knowledge would make it eaiser to barter with merchants, and such.

Heh reminds me of the Sims (ha what a strage and interesting game)
anyways i bet if there was a nice knowledge thing then maybe graal could actually turn into an almost more complete RPG :D
Has anyone ever played a MUD which is kida like all RPG window text based where you gain levels by killing monsters and practicing certain skills that is what graal would be awsome at :D

Even better there could be a nice MUD built in graal so when u get bored waiting for an update on 2k2 you can open up your RPG window and play there :D

I made a book graphic and the pages turned and everything.. I was going to use it to make some sort of npc that let you log things.. like perhaps bugs that you catch, or flowers you see, or fairies you catch, or something.. The book graphic isn't really big enough to hold a bunch of text though.. it was just supposed to hold a picture and a small description. Like a catalogue. :)
