graal level editing ip idea
 

you know what would cool if stefan made a thing in graal so two or more people could connect through ips and they could play and edit levels so two or more people could work on a server at the same time just an idea

That actually sounds like a grand idea.

Yes I can imagine that could work,
that you can change tiles and scripts of npcs
while playing on the server if you are an
admin, the server would then automatically
save the changes so it still works when the server
restarts next time

thank you i though it was a good idea too maby when the two people connect through ips and someone elce make changes to your level you can see a preview of it and weather you want to save the changes that the other person made or if you dont want to. that way people you connet with cant mess up your levels

yes good idea a mini server where everone has ftp and can olny upload and take down there own levels and it will be p2p so stefan makes money and there will be like everone can olny upload like 10 20 levels and everone can look at the ones that you put up and make inprovements and you can look at the inprovements and decide weather you want the inprovements or not this could work out very well and its like a level formal put on a server and where everone gets help with levels and you can work on levels with people quickly like a chat room for levels but your in graal and when your gawn people can work on your levels too so its like a formal on graal but quicker and like a chatroom but your in graal and can use level editor like ftp but not quite you understand and that could help people working on makeing a server but for people who want to inprove a server i think stefans idea is very good because you cant change the server unless an admin likes the changes and puts them in this could make graal level editing a lot easyer and user friendly

Past all of those grammar errors, that's a very good idea... I'm sure Stefan could incorporate it... That would reduce RAM errors if it's too laggy to have 2 Graal Clients open..

One idea:

Take out that damned autosave in offline mode.... There are NPC errors that automatically save, making them disappear and no way of coming back. :(

thank you my name is donaldshimoda i hope this will help us all in graal level making and create new ideas i think this will lead to better level script and best of all more money for stefan lol but when you think about it people could use a server for level makeing and fixing and if he makes that p2p that could lead to a lot of money

If there was possibly a way to do this and test server side scripts as well as edit levels together that would be cool.

it would have to have limited player though so people don't run servers off their computers.

This would easily solve the problem of all the scripters who need an "offline NPC server" you could just use the server's npcserver instead :-)
... except if someone finds a flaw in it that could make it crass =\
maybe add something to the npcserver for local clients only to use, so it doesn't interact with normal server activity. :) :D

Yes, I agree XD.
These ideas will expand graal to suite a users needs to make graal more enjoyable, and worth $60 CAN.

Also, i like someones idea of the admin being able to see a preview of the level first, or they could just dlete your levels.
Also, up to 5-10 people connect at a time on a single world.
And, the admin could give whichever players whatever rights :)
It should have like an NPC server thing so you could test NPC server scripts :)

The amount you upload should be unlimited, since your hosting it off YOUR OWN COMPUTER. It would be different if you hosted it off graal, then may it be limited.

The only thing it would need to "upload" is from your computer to the person you're connecting to.. like the direct connect feature in AIM, so the amount of levels should/would be unlimited.. and you connect to the npcserver through the server.. or something.. err.. yeah.. :eek: :grrr:

very nice idea, i dont know about making it openly available though, peopel could easily crack it and make it work as a server in itself. perhaps limit it like bird said to online servers only? dont know.
