Ok im wondering why are peolpe so fast on 2002? I mena i have a 1ghz 512mb of ram windows xp and cable modem and a dial up with a 900mhz with 128mb of ram still beats me how is this and i even see some people that dont move like up and down when they walk

Some cable services are only fast recieving, but slow sending.

Jak: Maybe your stamina is down :megaeek:
or you have lots of stuff in your pack :asleep:
your weight also affects your walk!;)

HeeroYuy2000 05-26-2002 10:01 AM

true but like i said my stamina is he same my cable is really a T1/cable and my pack is the same as my dial up friend

Walk diagonally.
That helps you move faster.

I have same problem...... Try putting graal full screen settings on 640x480 and going to full screen I find it reduces the lag alot. Unlike when you are full screen but can use cursor to make the screen smaller by clicking & dragging.

Hmmm.. I think that makes sense;)

if you are using a firewall, shut it down, and cancel the lights in the game.
Also lag doesn't affect speed =\

Nope, it doesn't do anything YET... mostly because it will take a lot of CPU power to calculate your weight -- the NPC would have to loop through all of your items, check the weight of the item, then multiply by the quantity... and when the NPC has to check about 20-30 items 20 times a second (for it to be correct with every step), it will slow things down.

Tyhm 05-31-2002 12:14 PM

.........wow, that was scary.

Er1c, you are aware that you COULD just calculate weight at
1) Logon
2) Item Add
3) Item Remove
?

Not a whole lot of hurting there.

At logon calculate the total weight. When you get a corn, raise it by the weight of the corn. When you take it to the mill, subtract the weight of the corn, add the weight of the flour...but the whole way between, YOUR WEIGHT REMAINS THE SAME! >_<;

Of course, if there's no rhyme nor reason to Adding and Subtracting stuff there's a problem - but since they all pop up the same NPC Message, couldn't you just do it there?
