Level Preloading

Well I think that Graal should preload the graphics for each level around the current players level.

9 levels images get loaded total, but only 1 level has scripts loaded (one the player is in).

A very big improvement, so I suggest it be added.

Gmaps, sir!

That's fine if your server supports them, and Classic does not.

I suggested this and everything thought I was crazy :(

Those don't work for me because they need blank levels. How hard would it be to do the level preloading on regular graal levels?

Well it could create lag when connecting, that could be A LOT of levels to load...

Did you bother to read anything I said genius? The number of levels it would load per level would be 9, the level they are currently in loads the scripts in that level, and it loads the graphics of the 8 other levels.

Need blank levels? Wha?

It preloads the levels nearby, only tiles and links and signs though. On gmaps it also loads npcs but that is normally not so much data because most scripts are server-side

Well just have it preload the tree nearby.

I need this because I use lots of tree top NPCs for layering, and because the levels do load it reveals whats under the treetop NPCs. It makes it look very sloppy...

Now that *cough!*, why not use gmaps?

Because currently only two servers support them?
