What the heck?

I hope the Kingdoms aren't like they are on 2k1 to be honest.. Because it was all a popularity game. "oh look at me I have a kingdom and I kick out teh noobs roffel"

But not really even that.. it was that kingdoms weren't really all that big, like they didn't affect the overall game. They were just big guilds that had fake wars. I want to see real kingdoms with guards and communities and good wars, and things that affect the 2k2 world as a whole. Not just the select few that want to "roleplay" as people of a kingdom.

I found it incredibly stupid that just because you joined a kingdom you got a special hat and access to somewhere that others couldn't go. I thought most kingdoms let you walk around the castle more unless you were an enemy. Not this "U ARNT LEET SO U CANT COME IN HAHA THIS IS OUR LEET CLUB WE GOT HATS TO PROOVE IT"

There should be real positions for the kingdoms, such as dustari has knights that actually train as knights, and guards that actually do guard duty, instead of a bunch of people in a guild called Dustari attacking a bunch of people in another guild.

GryffonDurime 05-22-2002 08:29 AM

Oi, exactly what paralell universe are yuo communicating from? Not all kingdoms are elitist.....as for "throwing out newbies" as you so bluntly put it, after we attempt to help them properly RP, which we are still fairly leinient on, and if they have been causing trouble, we have to take them out. We have standards. We have closed off so many of our fortresses because we don't want PKers, and the like in. We allow people to come in as long as they ask, and the main reason we have to do this is ebcause 2k1 wasn't an RP server, ti was a theme park with a select few Sanctuaries by RPers for RPers. And Dustari DOES have real positions. Unless of corse you mean real in the sense of tangibility, which of course is a physical impossibility as all such concepts are intangible in all scenarios, save of course abstract dimensions where though manifests itself into tangibility.

I totally agree. I mean, seriously, I am not trying to discourage people from joining Dustari but the reason everyone wanted to in the first place is because we were the only active kingdom. People like to say "We haev elite membars yo, roxor RP guys" but in reality, kingdoms (or countries) don't have a few elite people, they have all kinds of people.

Link77 05-22-2002 09:02 AM

I never joined a kingdom on 2001 because i agreed they were stupid. But maybe ill change my mind on 2k2.

Tyco 05-22-2002 09:04 AM

ok, koni, im backing uo gryfon with this, we teach n00bs to roleplay and if they do not get it in a matter of time we may kick them out because some are jsut to dumb, or they casue trouble such as pking allies or swearing.....

and as far as the throwing people out... what have yiou been smokin cause i want some, we will let people in so long as they dont go on a killing spreee saying "hah you cant do **** about ti cause im a guest mwhahha!"

Anyways, we act just like a real kingdom, and if you study Medievil warfare, you will understand that castles will not let people in without an order of business such as treatys, guests, invites or many other things......

So please koni, the next time you want to make a judgement on somthing such as Dustari, learn about the history of what it was based on, beacuse Dustari is a Medievil Kingdom with knights, paladins, mages and squires....

feivel 05-22-2002 11:27 AM

Ha the filthy n00bs wouldnt even pay a 1 gralat tax for using Samurai farmland.

What the Kingdoms need are non combatants as well. All I ever see are soldiers, Mages, etc... One time I saw a chef and he was the lead man in a major assualt. We need like Civilians, Farmers etc...

Graal is a game that resides on a fine line between popularity and talent. it's sad, but mostly the truth. I don't think it will ever change.

Dustari had a number of non-combatants at one time, but they didn't seem to understand that they weren't supposed to fight. :\

Pirate Lookout-"Sir, there is a group of Dustarian soldiers gathered on the banks, looks like they're ready to try and attack again!"
Pirate Captain-"Arr, I see them matey, but what's this? Their leader is a chef with a knife?!"
Pirate Crew-"AAAAAAH! RUNAWAY!!!! arrr..."

Dustarians-"Gee... that was easy."
*cook falls into the dreaded pirate ship's cellar*
Cook-"Oh damn. Guess I'll use my magic powers to warp out of here"
*unstuck me*

When I was in Dustari, long ago, I never fought. I was a cleric, not a knight :(

I never had a problem with non combatants fighting. But only when defending there lands under attack etc... The part I didnt like is having them invadnig other lands. Just was wierd. I might become a Civilian fisher man or something I dunno yet gotta see how 2k2 is going. Thats how I started off on g2k1 I was just a fisherman. :)
