A common misconception about FAQ

I would just like to make it clear to those who don't know, and to those who still play Graal2k1, that FAQ CANNOT use warpto.
I keep getting PMs saying "o but your faq so u can warpto"

Just clearing that up.

In the rare cases that they do, perhaps this will help.
It certainly can't do any harm Googi.

man you don't know how much it would help if we could use warpto, it would make 11 messages turn into 1 instead of telling them you could give them a general area and then show thm, it would be so much easyer X_X

Yes, but it could easily be abused, since FAQ is a common position.

As it is, when I was FAQ Chief, and when I had warpto, I only used it once or twice.

I tried getting warpto privilages while being FAQ, they said it wasn't needed or soemthing. Then i asked for a FAQ house that has warps to the usual places, they said OK, but so far I haven't seen anything and not faq anymore.

That's a good idea, but it would pretty much make travelling a useless thing, depending on how many warps there were, and where to.
People would travel to the FAQ house and then just warp to their destination.
Unless you meant that only FAQ could use it?

Yea, only when your FAQ tag is on, it lets you into the house/room.

FAQ's dont need warpto, there job is to awnser questions, they are not obligated to show you where it is.

Holy:
It would be really helpful if us EA's GOT IT. but thats just my fac..opinion.

um but isn't asking where something is a question? not like I don't think faq should just use their own 2 feet but nevertheless...

What's strange is that classic trusts FAQ, GCs (equivalent of ETs for all ye stupid people), GPs, and LATs with warpto. All the staff have warpto, and I can't recall one time which a FAQ, GC, or GP has abused it. (with the exception of the week that everyone followed tyhm strait into nations levels).

Neonight 05-22-2002 09:54 PM

Jeff:

That was just a bit of fun, I think. Mild corruption has to be allowed; the staff are only human. Plus, if Tyhm wanted to keep everyone out he'd use an if(playerenters && !strequals(#a,Tyhm_LAT)){setlevel2 level13.graal,30,30;} script.
Justification for classic staff having warpto:

FAQ: Update level and see what the Hell the commoner is talking about.

LAT: Update level, and go into testing areas without asking an RC.

GP: These are the most powerful guys. They need RC with a reasonable suite of rights (disconnect, warpto, warp player, update level, and maybe ban).

GC: They have to make up their own events. No handy CS or Survivor.

I knew that. I just thought it was strange that 2k1 doesn't get the same privaledges.

And Tyhm has a little trap set for anybody who DOES enter nation levels. It gives you the nation Piss Off. So basically anyone that has been in the nation levels has that nation. (Including me)
