Mithica: A New Beginning.
 

Well, I have decided to show you guys some more updates on the New Mithica. We are currently working on the tiles and the OverWorld. We made the basic outline of the System, but we will be changing it around since we are getting a NPC-Server. It will have click options for the menu or you can also use the arrow's.

You can choose your Kingdom/Class after a bit into the story (Which we will not release, for the sinmple reason that we don't want to ruin the whole story or the server). At the beginning, you are training to become a soldier for you King. You are banished to the deserts many miles away after the King finds out you are becomming a growing threat to him. You have to find water, but along the way, you are attacked and you wake up at a Slave Camp Sorta thing. Where you then break rocks. You must collect 40 gems for the gaurds, and 20 more for yourself. When you do this, you are brang to your cell, (Where other players are waiting), and one to 2 of them get to leave with a gaurd to go break rocks and do the same thing. You have some options of excaping, either being sneaky, and sneaking out at night using the tools you collect at meal time and outside breaking rocks to dig a hole under the wall and out. Or you can use the knife/Hammer to bash the gaurds one by one, and bring them back to your cell, so the others won't find them and report you. (Which just brings you to your cell, letting other players do the same... Or, we will have copys of levels where you do this). If you excape, you must go to a town of your choice, each with its own king, and diffrent classes/jobs... Whive you then do quests, expore other towns, and etc....

HarHar. I turned on The Legend on Mana because i was notice that this sytem looked very familiar. And guess what? the Menu is the EXACT same as the one on The Legend on mana except it says Mithica and the inside text is different, other then that the sidebar images are stolen or whatever.

Mithica is notorious for being born a new every month, restarted,revised, re-done as crap.

I'll have a talk with Pyro, about What the hell he is doing stealing things like that. I'm not sure if the graphics are the ones we are using though, mabey he just used it as an outline... Anyway... The reason its being made every month is because past Owners kept making the same mistake over and over again. They had no real point to the damn server. :o

Don't listen to the negitive, keep working on it, the more work you put into it, the beter chance of it becoming big. I think it has potential. (Make sure your GFX artist insn't using copyrighted stuff! :))

And I could care less about what any of you people say to try and degrade our work. Those people that are caught stealing Graphics/Scripts will be fired, Posably IP Banned.

The entire menu (paper thingie part) is stolen.

I would never waste my time trying to degrade your work. It really bugs me when people post stolen stuff saying it's theirs. And you, pyro, or whoever the heck that made that menu, couldnt have at least mentioned that the menu was used as an layout.. or something.

Omg your not much better than them. I personally think that Holycarp did a really good job owning Mithica, better than some other people at least. :rolleyes:

the first couple of posts made me happy and restored my faith in Mithica. then I read the last couple of post and the graphics are stolen and what not, back to the blues. :(

The graphics are nothing, they can eaisly be redone... The NPC scripting is what counts, and that's looking good.

Ok, I had a chat with Pyro, and apparently he DID tell us it was just a layout until some of the GFX Memberswerefree from making tiles to help make the System Graphics... Mind you, he did Script that System from scratch, and will be improved... Like a custom Mouse pointer when being used over the inventory/menu, Custom weapons, clothes, armor, tools, etc... (Such as a spear for catching fish) Remember, this is going to be a mideval type server.

Actually, no. I've already started working on the system graphics and i've had an idea of what it should look like for a long time now. I can show you the skeatches and everything I have done.

HolyCarp... did.. a good job on mithica.... LOL. No.

I had to convert the system image from a bmp to a gif, but here is basicly just the colour of it and how some of the sides will look and the bottom, if Excalibur likes it of course ;)

Looking at Mithica now...

1.) Fix the logon message, It looks like you tried typing HTML in Wordpad or something, and saved it as a RTF (not sure...) But it's messed up, and makes your server look bad :(

2.) Noticed the new Map. Playerworld Admin tip of the day:

You can hide NPC's (such as system NPC's, etc...) by naming the NPC with "- -"'s e.g. if you call the NPC "system" it will be shown in the items list, but if you call the NPC "-system-" it will be hidden.

It is a good idea to have a -system- NPC, or actualy, several, depending on how you want to create it. Lots of things can go in your -system- NPC, for starters, this is usualy where the Map goes, also you can get creative with your -system- NPC and add cool things for your server. Your LAT's should have some rough knowledge on how to do thses things, if you need any help, just let me know, I don't want to see Mithica die.

Mithica was my home server, after a little classic phase. If they never went p2p that time, they would probably have as much as others servers do such as Enigma and Unholy Nation. I personally think everything has turned to crap. You should have 2 worlds, that would be nice if you got an old backup of mithica or something. Dated around Febuary of 2001. I would go back to graal again for that ;) . Kerin was never on that much when I played so I never knew about anything like that. I remember Maud'Dib. He was cool. Fan was cool to. I remember Panny Channy walking around on a horse all the time. Well lots of memories that some idiots threw all away with having a *** idea of going p2p.

It never fails man, I dont understand why poeple must copy things from other games!

Why cant you just make your own menu system. Its not that hard man, just get Ulead Photoimpact 7 or something, and crack it. You can make 3D objects with it. Why must you copy things from games. As soon as I seen that I knew it was from legend of mana, the freakin Icons are exactly the same. The only icon that is different is the pet one, all the others are copied.

We already have a guy up there that told us in everyone of his post, I THINK we get the point. And maybe you should read the entire thread before posting, Excalibur or Zell12 clearly stated that the menu was a template, so stfu.

Mithica lacks the presence of Kerin and Muad'Dib. (You'd never guess who he is now, and I'm not saying. If you do know, then cool. :p) But yes, Mithica was a whole lot more fun back in the day. :( It just had that feel.

Silver was awesome. He used to give me hearts for busting hackers before I was a GP there. I never saw you back in the day. (If you saw me, I went by the name of Vivi. o.O) Though I think the first time you saw me on Mithica is when I had that long tie and briefcase shield and we were messing around in Clocktown. *sigh* Memories. :(

Marle was awesome too. I remember when we had wars with Goth town against Porre. :p

Yea, but we didn't have to go through several reforms of staff just to get things on the server working right:)

The only people worth a crap on that server were Mehido, Otaku, Gabiani, Kerin, and Silver Angel...
